**A/N: Above is an idea of what a trap door looks like, the one in the story would be camouflaged better.**

**Ridge**

By the time lunch rolled around Beowulf was on edge. Niles still hasn't shown up and Beowulf said he never answered any of his texts or calls. Even Aviya noticed as she watches Beowulf with concern in her eyes.

"I can't believe I upset him this badly. I'm a horrible person!" Beowulf cries out.

"Maybe he just needed some time to himself, Wulf," Aviya says in her natural quiet voice.

"He could have at least told me instead of letting me worry like this," Beowulf complains. "Niles never misses school because it gets in the way of sports if he misses."

I wonder where Niles is. I haven't known the guy that long, especially as long as Beowulf has, but I know he would have at least let Beowulf know he needed some space. Niles isn't the type of guy to ignore someone when he is upset, when he has something to say, he says it.

"Incoming," Aviya says as she looks over mine and Beowulf's shoulders. Beowulf spins so quickly in his chair that I'm surprised he didn't get whiplash. I turn more slowly than him and widen my eyes as an angry ass Abram and Jonah walk straight for our table.

Abram's black curly hair bounces all around his head as he makes fast angry strides until he stops behind me just to thrust out his hand with a crumpled up paper in his hand.

"There on my turf now," Abram growls angrily. "And I need your help to get them the hell out of here. Just look at the insignia at the top,"

My eyes are still wide as I take the crumpled up paper from him. I open up the crumpled paper and the first thing my eyes see is the red insignia of a wolf print with a silver dagger pierced right through it. I know this insignia.

The second thing that my senses pick up on is the scent of blood with a giant smear of dried up blood on the bottom of the paper. Whose blood is that? I read the neat handwriting next.

Dear Little Alpha of the Dark-River,

You probably don't realize it, but I have someone you know. Someone I know is quite dear to the soon to be little Beta to the Black-Shadow. I had to think this one out carefully because I know you dear Little Alpha of Dark-River and Beta of Black-Shadow. I couldn't kidnap just anyone, you wouldn't have come if I did that.

You should know my wolves are taking great care of your little blonde friend, Beta, I suspect they will be through playing with him by nightfall tomorrow though. If you don't hurry you will never see him again. Bring my stone and you can have him for free. Well, no, actually, the price on this boy's head is the stone. Bring the stone, get the boy. You have until nightfall tomorrow.

See you soon Little Alpha and Beta, I look forward to our meeting again.

My hand crunches the paper back up in anger. I stand up so fast the chair crashes to the floor. Why would he take Niles? Really, the stone? Doesn't he know the stone is just a legend? Seriously, this guy just needs to disappear from the face of the Earth!

"Jose," I growl out. "I dealt with him just this summer," My hand automatically plays with the pendant hanging around my neck, Abram and Jonah both looking at the pendant.
