Chapter 31

A/N **The date ended up being pretty long since I was stumped at first so enjoy this. Once I got the dialogue going I just couldn't find a good place to stop, we even see a deeper side of our Newbie J . But we learn an interesting fact about Beowulf in here, which if I might add, I agree with him, although they are not my favorite I still agree with everything he said about them. I may or may not squeal as well.... ;) **

**Beowulf**

True to his word, Newbie showed up after training to pick me up. It's a good thing I showered in the locker room because he didn't even take me home first to get a different pair of clothes.

"Will I even be dressed properly?" I ask as he drives someplace.

"Of course you will be," He says with a smile. "I have a few things planned for our date though, so I hope you're ready,"

"I would be if you told me what we were doing,"

"It's a surprise," He chuckles. "If I told you it would ruin the fun,"

"Ugh, fine," I groan and make myself comfortable in the seat. "So you really got my mom to let me out?"

"Yep," He pops the 'P'.

"What did you say?" I ask curiously.

"That I was taking you out on our first date," He says casually.

My eyes practically pop out of my head as my jaw drops. "You what?" I practically scream.

"Relax, Beowulf, she already knows,"

"She already knows what?"

"That I like you,"

"Since when?" Did everyone know he liked me before I did? Does Niles know? Niles probably does and now he hates me and is avoiding me.

"Since I first met her." Newbie says. "Remember how I said we talked and learned some things? Yeah we talked about how I like you."

"Oh," I say as I look out the windshield. "She never said anything,"

"She was supposed to hint at it,"

"So she's fine with it?" I ask as I chew on my lip.

"Hey, Beowulf," He says to grab my attention. "Stop worrying what everyone will think. Just do what you want. If you want to like me, then by all means like me. Because goddess knows I'm infatuated with you. If you want to date me, then please, go out with me. If you want to kiss me in public, fucking do it, no matter who's there. When my sister isn't around, hold my hand if you want. Just do what you want, Beowulf, and don't worry about who's around and what they'll think. There will always be someone around who disapproves with us, who will sneer and look down at us. But none of that matters. All that matters is that were happy and in love. We'll be okay, Beowulf, as long as you accept us and stop giving a shit about what other people think. 

"All you need to worry about is yourself. And even if your mom wasn't okay with us, I would still take you out because I want too, because god dammit, Beowulf, I like you. I like you so fucking much I don't even know what to do. So if tonight sucks ass, I'm truly sorry, because I have no clue what I'm doing. This is honestly the first date I have ever been on, you're the first person to ever catch my attention like this. And honestly, I want to see where this can go with you. I want to see if we can have a future together. And I'm sorry if I just crossed a line there by thinking about the future so soon, but fuck, Beowulf, your awesome!"

I stare at Newbie so long that I don't even notice when he parks the car. All I can do is stare at him with a goofy smile on my face. I have never heard such a confession before in my life, not even from my Ex, Angel.
