*NOW*
They shined the bright light in my face and I squinted I could feel the sweat slip down my face almost like a wave and I shiver as I thought of the worst one I have been under. I put my hand in front of the face sealing the light from my eyes. "Is that really necessary?" I asked the reporter.
"I'm trying to find your good side." the reported told me.
"I don't have a good side.. At least not anymore."
"How did you manage to get that burn across your face? You were on an island not hell."
"Pretty much the same place to me.. um can we take this step by step please?"
"Yeah so yesterday you were getting a little off topic you jump from one thing to another, to another, to another, then another. So you found the luggage, Dan and Shay had a brotherly moment, Tigeress doesn't feel well, Guthrie is dead and Thomas is messed up about it, Brett is not liking the whole Hog meat and he is wondering where his wife is, Ellfie is really quiet suddenly, and I'm not sure if Vega and Dan are dating..."
"You want me to continue don't you?" I asked as I tried to prepare myself for his answer.
"Yes."
But there wasn't ever enough time to prepare....
*THEN*
"Has anyone seen her hello?" Brett asked the next morning and the few of us who sat by the unlit fire shook our heads no. "I wonder where she ran off too. I hope she didn't get herself lost."
"I'm cleaning out the sticks move out the way." Katie said as she sat down and Shay tossed a bunch of small logs next to her.
"I'm pooped." Shay told us as he dodge the stick Katie just threw over her shoulder without looking.
"Be careful babe you could poke someone's eyes out like that."
"Um guys what's with all the bags over there?" Dan asked as he lied his head on Vega's lap.
"One aw." I said. "And two they all swam out into the shark infested water and retrieved them."
"Dan your bag is over there." Shay told him and Dan shot up and ran the short distance to the scattered luggage. He left a trail of sand flying behind and Vega knocked some of it off of her lap.
"OH MY GOSH CLEAN CLOTHING AND A HAT!!!!" he yelled excitedly. He reached into his bag and he smelt a black tee shirt "Oh smells like cigars."
"You smoke cigars?" Vega asked.
"Hell yes I do."
"Gross."
"Girl don't talk smack until you have tried it."
"He's addicted." Shay told her. "You can thank my grandpa... And knowing Dan he has at least 50 wet sticks in there that he will dry out and make you smoke one."
"Ew."
"Yeah just a heads up."
"I love myself for packing 60 of them OH WAIT SCRATCH THAT 63... 68...." we sat there listening to Dan count his cigars for at least 10 minutes and he yelled excitedly. "Thank you GRANDPA!! 200.. Oh Lordy this is better than Christmas."
"Now Dan don't go smoking all of these today make them last." Shay told him. He almost sounded like a concern uncle and I think the others must have caught on to that too since they started laughing.
