AHANA

I had just stepped out of canteen when I caught Vansh in my peripheral vision. I was surprised when he looked my way and even more when he walked in my direction. "Yo," he spoke while I diverted my attention elsewhere.

He shifted his position to stand right where I was looking, forcing me look at him. "Uh, Ahana, I'm talking to you," he waved his two fingers in front of my face.

I shrugged slightly and finally decided to speak up. "Oh, sorry, I thought you were greeting another Ahana by mistake," I said, blinking my eyes faking innocence.

He let out a sarcastic laugh. "Come on now. You're the only Ahana I know and besides, this is a foreign country. I don't think there is another Ahana in this area atleast," he said, directing his hand to the surroundings.

"And you're the only Vansh I greeted in the morning," I replied back as I crossed my arms.

Guilt crossed his features as he averted his eyes from me. So I wasn't imagining things. He indeed ignore me in the morning. It didn't take a genius to figure out why.

"You ignored me because of Pragya, right?" I asked to confirm.

He scratched his head. "Uh, yeah... about that. I have something to discuss," he said as if he was choosing his words carefully.

We started walking a little further away from the canteen. I couldn't miss the cautious look on his face as he moved his eyes to his surroundings. Was he looking for someone or was he avoiding someone? I didn't know. It was when we reached the back of the building, he stopped. "Okay so, this is going to be weird to say but, anyway, I'm going to ignore you for a few days." He started.

My brows creased, failing to find the logic behind his statement. Before I could interrogate him further, he started explaining it to me. Pragya had briefed him and Dhruv about the brawl between her and me. Of course, she must have told them from her perspective to make me seem guilty. Surprisingly, Vansh didn't thought that way. He didn't listen to half of the things she said. To put it bluntly, he didn't care what any one of us said or did since it had nothing to do with him. All he knew that it was over an assignment that was lost by me- As quoted by Pragya, the liar. He also knew that the matter was serious from the way Pragya was acting.

So, Pragya, the manipulator, ordered them to stop talking to me. The boys didn't agree to her at first but she was pretty adamant about it. Said she would stop talking to them too if they would associate with me. It turned out to be a useless argument in itself as they tried to convince her.

Vansh didn't want to be dragged into this mess any further. He thinks it's better to listen to her instead of going around, talking secretly to me. So that was why he was being so cautious. He tried to lure me into telling that Pragya won't take it lightly if she find him talking to her. He just wanted to avoid unnecessary drama.

All the while, I stood there like a statue, listening to yet another stranger before me. I mean, seriously, what was wrong with people these days? Did I accidentally jumped into 2050 with brainless creatures or did I stumbled upon a parallel world by mistake? To top it off, he made it look like he made the most logical decision out of a world class problem. Pathetic.

"Besides its only for a couple of days. I'm sure you two would go back to normal af--"

"No, we won't," I cut him off abruptly. "Pragya and I, we are over. We won't ever get back to the way we were. Oh, but that would mean you'll never talk to me, right? How sad. What will you do, then?" I said, my voice dripping off sarcasm.
