《 AHANA

"I'm sorry but I seriously can't make it to this weekend. Please spare me and go with your friends instead. Or better watch Walking Dead," Vansh pleaded. It was his way of negotiating with me.

"How very clever of you!" I said in reference to the solution he gave. I faced him. "Come on, Van. You can't just abandon this at the eleventh hour. We booked the tickets for the Comic Con a week ago. Tomorrow is a big day, you know."

"Their match totally slipped out of my mind before-" he paused before asking. "How about Monday?"

"Monday's no good. There will be barely any shows held on that day. Just workshops and goodies. We'll be wasting our time."

Vansh scratched his head, frustration visible in his face now. "That sucks. Look, I can't help it if Len and Mark are having their soccer match tomorrow. They are my friends, Ahana. Try to understand."

Ugh, just why did his boyfriends had their match destined for tomorrow? It's fate I tell you. "Fine, go. It's not like you would have stopped going anyway," I said, breaking a smile.

It was small but I noticed him sigh before smiling back at me. "Thanks An," he kissed my forehead. "I promise I'll make it upto you."

With no option left, I decided to attend the event with Lisa, Pragya and Tripti. I swear I was getting ready for the event but then I didn't know what came over me because the next moment, I was calling Pragya, lying that I was sick and that, they can go without me.

Of course, I wasn't sick nor I was staying home. I picked my clutch and took off to where Vansh was.

It was a local soccer match so the stadium wasn't packed to begin with. It was easy to get the ticket. I stood at the highest level of the stadium, searching for Vansh and finally found him. He was seated on one of the middle rows to my right, carelessly laughing with his boyfriends. Happiness bubbled my being, filling to the brim. I stepped down the stairs, unable to contain my excitement and placed my hat behind his head.

He craned his head behind to face me. "The fuck. Am I day dreaming during a freaking match?" he exclaimed, his eyes bulging at me and then, at his friends.

"If you're real then absolutely not," I said with a cheeky smile.

There were questions about who I was from the guy's I did know. Chad answered for them and they shot a look of surprise at Vansh. I think I heard a low whistle as well.

"Excuse me people. Give me a minute," Vansh said happily stepping from the seat and reached me. When we were out of earshot from the boys, his expression changed drastically the moment he placed a hand behind my back. "Seriously Ahana, here? What are you doing here? What happened to Comic Con?"

That caught me off guard. It wasn't the reaction I expected. He didn't seemed surprise by the fact that I came all the way to join his match I wasn't interested to watch in the first place. He actually seemed like he was disappointed that I came.

"I left them. I—" I started, my mouth almost trembling, my cheeks hot. "I only wanted to surprise you," I mumbledq. But it seems like I shouldn't have bothered.

"Well you surely surprised me. That was unexpected," he said, his eyes glazed over the playground where the match was going on. The displeasure of my presence was so painfully obvious, I had the burning urge to slap him and walk away in a pure rom- com movie style.

"I think I should—"

"Come on, let's get a seat for you," he cut me off, without knowing. "There are a few empty seats around us so it shouldn't be a problem," he said nonchalantly. Like a stupid girl in love, I proceeded to sit next to him and watch the match.
