VANSH

The next day, the three of us-- Dhruv, Pragya and I, were summoned by Ahana, the greatess. I said greatess instead of great in respect to her gender.

In her message, she stated she wanted to talk about a bunch of things in person and that, she wanted to express her gratitude properly. The time had finally come to sort out everything.

Lisa was already in Ahana's house when Dhruv and I, reached there on Monday. She came back from her relatives, on Sunday when she was supposed to come back today, just for Ahana's sake. That's some dedication I tell you. She is a much better friend than the rest of us.

When we entered the room-- Ahana was a mess. She was sitting on her bed, hugging her knees to her chest. Her tear stained face was clearly visible, as she raised her head to our direction, but then reverted back to trailing some imaginary patterns on her bed sheet.

"She has been like that ever since she woke up," Lisa carefully whispered besides us. "She keeps blaming herself for everything that happened yesterday. I get that she was reckless but I keep telling her it wasn't her fault. Though I didn't think Mark would stoop so lo--"

"Thank you for coming and I seriously want to thank you guys for everything you've done yesterday, especially Pragya," Ahana cut her off, unknowingly. She placed her foot on the ground and moved her head across the room. "Speaking of which, where is she?"

"Well, she plans to meet you later but she's sorry on her behalf," Dhruv informed, his hands rubbing the back of his neck.

"She should say that in person," I commented still bothered about her not coming. We tried to convince her but she sticked with her decision for, God knows what reason. She wasn't mad at Ahana either. She had just decided to visit her in college and sort it out in her own way. And people say boys are weird.

"Oh," Ahana said, disappointment evident on her face and broke into a sad smile. "It's obvious, isn't it? I mean, why would she want to visit a loser like me."

Lisa reassured her it was nothing like that but then Dhruv interrupted by sitting next to Ahana and apologized first, surprising us all.

He then admitted how sorry we all were, for ignoring her in the past two weeks and all shit that went along with it. While he was at it, I intervened and apologized to her too.

Ahana's blinked back tears. "You two are making it seem like it all your fault. Well, I do think you people are mostly to blame-" she appeared to be teasing but then turned serious. "-but I want to apologize too, for my rude behaviour. Like I should have replied to your messages," She said referring to Dhruv.

"Yes, you should have," Dhruv nodded.

"And I should have listened to you when you were confronting me..." she said, facing me this time.

"Yes, you should have," I repeated Dhruv's line.

Ahana rolled her eyes. "Okay, that's enough self loathing for now," she sniffed and we shared a laugh. "But, seriously, thank you for all your help yesterday. Especially Pragya. Maybe some mistakes are committed for the best- just like that accidental phone call."

"But why did you need to make a phone call in the first place? Mark could have easily dropped you home, considering your poor condition," Dhruv said, his eyes squinting at her suspiciously.

Ahana seemed to be doing some telepathic talk to Lisa, at which Lisa gave a nod of approval. As Ahana began reciting about Mark's cheap and failed attempts to touch her, I couldn't help but think how right Pragya was about suspecting Mark. It was just a wild guess of hers but she still told us to hurry.
