VANSH

As Dhruv and I waited near the exit gates of our college for Pragya, I happened to witness a very peculiar scene- Ahana walking with Mark with a big, fat smile on her face. I saw her with him yesterday too. He seemed to be talking about something and she laughed like he was a better comedian than Kapil Sharma from comedy nights.

As they walked their way towards our direction, unaware of my presence, my ears were forced to overhear their conversation. "Geez, are you sure that's the only return gift you want? I can offer you that Cartier watch I saw at the showroom back street... Fine-" she said throwing a dirty look and kissed him on the cheek while I blinked my eyes twice to make sure I wasn't hallucinating. Whoa, she sure is gutsy to kiss a guy in the open.

"Thanks babe," He gave a satisfactory grin and they went back to talking about eating something. Our eyes met for a brief second before she passed me by.

"Tch-"

"Tch?" Dhruv questioned, distracting himself from a group of angst teenagers to me.

I furrowed my brows realizing what I had just muttered. I scratched my left arm with my other. "Tch, these damn mosquitoes," I lied. He seemed uninterested as he reverted his attention back to those teenagers who were in the middle of a heated discussion. I decided to watch them too, for the sake of passing time.

Why did I need to lie to him anyway?

In the bus, my mind went back to the scene where she was with Mark. It had almost been two weeks after her and Pragya's brawl. I almost saw her everyday. At first, I was feeling bad for her-- I messaged her a couple of times too, but I guess, I was worried over nothing. She seemed to be doing just fine without us. I would see her hanging out with a group of people, I didn't know or, with her dance club members. It was almost like her old friends hadn't existed at all. Like we were just trendsetters, waiting to be labelled as old fashioned while I was hoping for everything to go back as before.

If she had no problems mingling with others and if, we didn't mean anything special to her then why did she accused me of her being my entertainment channel? She had no right to because she wasn't being any less rude herself.

'Seems like you found a new toy to play with, huh, Ahana. Beware of her, dude.'

I recalled Mark's words like alarm clock arranged by mistake. Thoughts filled my mind, infuriating me by the minute. I was feeling a lot frustrated these days. When nothing seemed fit, I decided to message her. It wouldn't matter what I message her since we were a done deal anyway. I just wanted to blow off some steam from my head. It's not like I would receive any reply from her either.

"You seem 2 hv switched on 2 ur newfound friends so easily. Seems like Mark was right on the mark in what he said back then. But I'm happy 4 you. Btw, I've been thinking- the college committee should definitely display a notice board, reminding students to avoid PDA in front of their college, even if its as small as kissing in the cheek. Nice idea, don't you think? :P"

I hit send and read the message again, having second thoughts about it. I wanted to send her a serious one but I think ended up teasing her instead. A part of me felt incredibly stupid to message her in the first place.

I honestly thought I wouldn't receive any kind of reply but, after an hour or so, I unexpectedly did. She wrote-

'So glad to know you r happy 4 me. I'm happy 4 me too. XD Well, I do think its a nice idea but then they should put the notice board inside the campus too. Just the other day, I happened to witness a girl, clinging to someone's arm while blatantly flirting with him. The strange thing was that guy's face was awfully similar to yours lol. I wonder how? :O'
