Your Gravity

Did I ever really fall for you?
Did your gravity ever pull me in,
Make me fall from whatever precarious perch,
I was hanging off before?

I was resistant to your charms,
But science won over.
I couldn't overcome your gravity.
Which makes sense,
Considering larger things have higher gravity,
Like your ego.
I hope I bruised it when I fell.

Then again, nothing can ever really fall,
The air molecules are simply being misplaced,
As a new victim is being pulled towards,
The centre of your gravity.
So you misplaced everything to reel me in.
It's only after you used me,
Like a second hand toy,
You put me back on my precarious perch,
And expect me to stay.
But you can't stop gravity.

I hope the bruises from me falling on you,
Last as long as the scars I got,
From all the shards of glass I hit along the way.
A/N: This one I wrote a while ago, it's one of my favourites. I knew for a long time I had to write a poem about gravity at some point. Let me know what you think, all feedback is accepted. <3 Votes and comments are appreciated, and thanks for reading! :D
