Life And Light

Life fills the space,
Between the first breath you draw,
And the last one that escapes...

Life dances amongst infinite laughter,
And plays at the edges of the sincerest smiles.
It hides its secrets under lock and key,
And can travel many miles.

Life runs through blood, swims through tears,
It radiates in hugs and cowers amongst fear.
Life bundles itself up,
In that inexplicable, unrequited sensation,
Commonly known as love.

Life lurks even in darkness,
Because it can always find the light.
No matter how small or sad the spark,
Or how low the candle burns...

Life is something not measured nor tainted,
By hours, or minutes,
Or even the most infinite years.
Life may be fragile,
Yet not even the sharpest blade,
Or the fastest bullet can kill it.
Because life is so much more,
Than a mere state of existence...
A/N: This was my fourth and final entry for the Serenity Writers Poetry Contest (congratulations @EveThePoet for receiving the most votes in the final task). I meant to publish this a while ago but completely forgot. Oh well, better late than never. :)
I plan to enter more competitions in the future, so there's something exciting to look forward to. Thanks for reading, as always, if you enjoyed it please click on that little star icon, or drop me a comment in the comment section. Better yet, share with a friend! See you later! <3
