An Apology To No One

On that day began a chapter of our lives.
The weakest links in a chain, we'd never survive.
We're growing up in a big world, starting anew, alone.
We looked at each other and saw a piece of home.
It was at that moment we swore a silent oath.
Now aloof and shattered, you and me both.
Trapped by that pact, separated by silence,
You rolled your eyes at my meek compliance.
I tried to speak up, but I was too scared of you.
Gilded in fear that I couldn't break through.
Still, we felt obliged to hold up the charade.
While I hid behind my barricade.
In the wall that divided us, cracks began to show.
Until in some mutual way we let each other go.
I'm sorry for holding you back this long.
I realise now how that was wrong.
It took a while, but now you're free.
You no longer have to suffer because of me.
A/N: Yeah, I... Don't know what to say about this one. Let's just say it's relatable. I've actually been waiting a really long time to publish this because I can't think of the right words to say (much like this poem depicts), but I decided to stop procrastinating and just write. Lots of love to all my fellow pawthors/weirdos/wattpadians/readers (I really need to settle on just one, which do you think? Or should I just stick with all of them?) AND IT'S LESS THAN TWO HOURS UNTIL SPRING!!! Well, for me and you AEST people. I don't know about the rest of you. But anyway, that is definitely worth celebrating. Bye, Chicas! <3
