I sit here, without you,
Once again, as I always do.
I've chased you away.
Even though I secretly hoped you would stay.
Left alone to grieve,
When it is time for you to leave.
Smiling as I wave you goodbye,
Pretending there are no tears, that I don't even mind.
Forced to love from afar,
Like waiting until it's dark to admire the stars.
I must hide, must stay out of sight.
All I'll ever be is
Just a shadow who longs for your light.
A/N: I swear these poems have a mind of their own. They start off as one thing, then decide to change completely! I find it really cool when they do that, because that's the beauty of poetry, of art in general; it has it's own mind, it's own heart and soul that's embedded into it by the artist. And that art then comes alive, becomes its own being. It's amazing, when you think about it.
