My heart falls into the abyss as the curse seizes control,
Destruction was the price I paid in order to free my soul.
Observing from a distance at the path I spiralled down,
I know I did the right thing, otherwise they would've drowned.
I knew to take a hint when I saw your scowl,
Now safely hidden away, I can let the storm howl.
I held up the façade, breaking slowly by the hour,
I was too petrified to face my own power.
Now that showing my true colours is no longer a sin,
I've held it back this long, time to let the monster in...
A/N: I had the song 'Let it Go' from the movie Frozen stuck in my head, and I think this poem ended up being loosely based around that. If you sing the first four lines correctly, it actually sounds like the song. Anyway, it's been a while since I last cast any magic, and I just randomly came up with the first two lines. Hope you guys enjoyed it, votes and/or comments are much appreciated and thanks for reading, my fellow magicians! <3
