Chapter 23

Meghan's POV:
Another date. I can't believe I agreed to it. Theo is nice and all but, I know who I really want now and that's Charlie. But, I, we, messed that all up now. When I finally got home after my lunch date with Theo it was nearly 3 PM. How? He showed me the entire hospital. All of the staff, wings, (sadly, none of them were chicken) and other miscellaneous things. He was so happy showing me off so I couldn't say no. And now I am stuck again in the awful relationship. It isn't really awful except that he thinks I love him and I don't. Jordon had thankfully watched Marlie and everything went smoothly. Except the fact that Marlie is now semi-depressed that her father yelled at her and is now absent from her life yet again, she was well behaved. Today, Marlie was invited to a birthday-slumber party and begged me to go. Thinking this would be a positive thing in her life, I let her go. So this morning we packed everything she will need and dropped her off and now I wish so badly she was here. Why? I need an excuse. I realllly don't want to go to the mall today. I just want to stay at home and cry myself away with a bucket of Ben & Jerry's icecream and a Netflix binge. But none of my excuses will be good enough. I hastly put the towel around my body and step back into my cold room. I walk into my closet and pick out a classic black skater skirt, white tank, and a statement necklace. I throw it on and put my fiery red hair into a ponytail. Casual yet sexy. Wait, maybe too sexy. Should I change? Nah. I head to the staircase and stop. But I don't wanna be too.... Nah. I finally reach the bottom of the stairs and tempted to go back up and change everything. I check the time on my phone and realize I am five minutes late already. I quickly grab my purse and keys and head outside. I drive to 8000 Sunset and park in the first space I see, I am late already and a better parking space are for early birds. I quickly walk in and see Theo leaning on the wall by the entrance. He is looking down at his phone and scrolling through something. He has his hair lightly disheveled and wearing a blue button up and black dress pants. I walk up to him and smile,

"Hey." I smile slightly.

"Hey- Wow you are freaking gorgeous!" He exclaims. I giggle and blush.

"Shall we go?" He asks and holds out his arm.

"We shall." I reply and link arms with him. We walk around for awhile and my arms slides down from it's previous spot on his bicep and we hold hands.

"Wanna go look around in there?" He asks after awhile. I look to where he's pointing at and see a small store with a pretty large amount of people. The clothing in their window's look amazing and I would love to get some bigger shirts to sleep and have a lazy day with since taking Charlie's is no longer an option. We walk over and he goes to look at shoes and I head to the t-shirts. I walk around the small bend and guide my finger along the fabrics, looking at them as I pass by. Suddenly, I run into someone and tumble backwards.

"I'm so- Meghan?" The stranger says. I look up and see the one and only, Charlie Puth. His sexy, disheveled hair is pulled back by a baseball cap and he is wearing a t-shirt that shows off the outline of his abs and classic guy jeans. He looks flawless. He puts his arm down and I take it. I am pulled up and accidentally go to far forward and fall on top of him.

"W-What are you d-doing here?" He asks. I blush and pick myself up again.

Charlie's POV:
I am suddenly pushed over and fall down. I pick myself up quickly and look at the other person.

"I am so- Meghan?" I ask and look down at her. She has a sexy, tight-fitting, skater skirt on and a white t-shirt that makes her boobs look bigger. I look into her eyes and nearly drown in their beautiful color. She holds her am out and I grab it and pull her up. She comes up but I must of pulled to much because she falls on top of me again.
