Chapter 25

Ash was back stage with his friends waiting to go on. At the moment, there was another group on and Ash was getting nervous.
"They sound so good" Ash said
"Yeah but your better" Sqaishey encouraged
"Yeah maybe" Ash sighed as he looked at Squid who had his back to the group "maybe Squid is right, I'm not as good as the other acts"
"Yes you are, just, don't listen to him, he doesn't know how good you truly are, just make the most of it" Martyn ordered "Ashley Hall, please come onto the stage, Ashley Hall" the speaker said as a round of applause erupted from the audience
"Go get them Ash" Dan cheered
"And don't worry, we will be in the front row cheering you on" Stampy said as they left.
Ash then walked onto the stage. He was going to be singing #thatPOWER by will.i.am (ft. Justin Bieber). He looked into the audience and saw his friends. The music began. He looked at Squid and just as he was about to sing, he forgot the words. The music stopped and there were whispers from the audience. In the audience his friends were looking at each other. Something inside of Squid changed and he ran backstage with his friends yelling his name.
"Squid, what are you doing?" Netty called after him.
Squid told the people backstage to give him a microphone and to start the music up again and they did. Ash looked around not expecting this as the music played and he heard singing and looked to the side of the stage to see Squid walking towards him singing.

The audience cheered as the two boys finished back to back smiling at each other. Their friends were so happy and were cheering the loudest.
"Why?" Ash asked
"Because, your my friend, and this is what friends do for each other, especially best friends" Squid explained.
The two boys hugged. The judges then walked on stage to announce the winners of Heckmondwike Talent Show.
"Ok, so us judges have decided who the winners are this year, it was a tough choice but in the end, we found a winner and they are, Ashley Hall and his friend David Spencer!" The judge cheered.
Ash was in shock, he had won and it was all because of Squid.

After the show, the group of friends were having a party at Ash's place to celebrate. Squid and Ash wouldn't stop singing all the way home but, their friends didn't care. As long as the boys were happy, the others were happy too. Lee then stood up, drink in hand
"A toast to Ash and Squid, for their great singing and winning the competition" Lee said until he was interrupted
"And for Squid also saving my butt" Ash stated earning laughs from everyone and they clanked their glasses together.

Before this moment at the school:
Heath, Casey, Ricki and Bianca were annoyed at Ash and Squid for taking the win. Ricki had performed that night and they wanted her to win.
"Those darn losers, if it weren't for David, you would've won!" Heath yelled towards Ricki
"Yeah, I know, I hate David so much!" Ricki announced kicking over a bin.
"Look, the losers are leaving now, let's follow" Casey spotted, seeing Squid and them leave and of course they followed the group.

Outside Ash's house:
"Their having too much of a good time" Bianca said
"Sure are" Heath agreed.
"Shh, try and listen to what they are saying" Ricki shushed.
"If it weren't for you Squid, I wouldn't of won, I'm glad your our friend, and that you are always around" Ash said from inside
"Hmm, wouldn't it be a shame if David was no longer around to save the day" Casey laughed
"Yes, what a shame that would be" Bianca agreed
"Come on, I have a plan" Heath said and they went to Heath's house.
