Chapter 2

The ceremony was still going but Mr Jones walked out of the double doors with a smirk. He stared at Ethan and I "What have we got here? Rooms. Off you go. You have classes once this is over" he grinned and pulled out two pieces of rolled up parchments. "Your schedules" he said with a smile and handed them to us.

As soon as I looked I folded it and looked at Ethan who looked just as worried as me "This is going to be hell" I said before walking away and up the stairs.

Once I was back in our room I saw Lexi glaring at me. "You got us in trouble. Again." She said before groaning and throwing herself back on the bed. I turned to look about the room and stopped suddenly when I saw the mirror.

It was the size of the wall and had a silver glitter border. As I looked closer though I realised that Lexi or myself weren't in the reflection. Instead it was as if the mirror was actually a picture of the room. But it looked so real...

I crept forward and reached forward to touch the mirror when I felt nothing. "Lexi" I said and she groaned a response "Theres 4 beds in this room. That means 4 people" I heard Lexi jerk upright.

Then the door opened and we heard another groan. I turned to see the dark haired girl from before. She was standing infront of a blonde girl who kept yawning. "Why did we get put with you" the dark haired girl moaned.

"Trust me. We dont want to be here either" I spat back.

The girl smiled "But its ok. Mother said that everyone should be treated as my equal even the strange ones. My name is Summer White and this is Ava Rose. You may know our mothers?"

I glared at her "Sapphire and thats Alexis. Call her that though and she'll punch you"

"I will" laughed Lexi who had went back to laying on her back, sprawled out on the bed.

Summer waltzed in and sat politely on the edge of her bed. "I'm going for a nap" Ava yawned as she climbed into her bed and was soon fast asleep.

Summer's hair was jet black and was waist length with perfect ringlets. I looked in the mirror at my long brown hair that did what it pleased. Not even Lexi's curly blonde hair looked better. Ava had strawberry-blonde hair cut to her chin.

"We have class now so I suggest you get changed" Summer said with a smile as she went to her cupboard and pulled out a short light blue dress. She smiled and left to get changed. Me and Lexi looked at eachother and laughed. I went to my cupboard and opened it to see a red lace dress with long sleeves and a short skirt. Beneath were a pair of red glittery heels. I picked them up and looked at Lexi who smiled because she knew what I was up to and opened the window. I threw the shoes out of the window and Lexi ran to her wardrobe and picked up her forest green glittery shoes and threw them out before I slammed the window shut.

The dress I could deal with so I put it on. It was so tight I was close to suffocating but it looked pretty good so I didnt complain. It was too short and I kept pulling it down. I looked down at my bare feet and picked up my black combat boots from before.

I turned to Lexi to see her in a green short sweater and a black pencil skirt. She had put on her red sneakers. We laughed at each other as back home we would never wear something like this.

Summer bounced out of the bathroom in her dress and a pair of strappy blue heels to match. "Lets go" she said as she walked out of the room. Me and Lexi looked at eachother "Ready?" She asked.

"As I'll ever be" I said and we linked arms and walked out of the room.

We walked into a classroom, loud with animal noises, and I was shocked to see a stag, a lamb, some sort of blue bird and other animals walking about. Summer beamed "My mother teaches this class" she said as she sat down in an empty seat. Seats were scattered in hap-hazard rows and me and Lexi sat down beside each other as more people began to file in.

Finally when the room was full a very familiar woman walked out to the middle of the class. She had ivory skin and jet black hair cut to her chin. "Welcome class. My name is Miss White. I teach here at the school and it is my job to make sure that when you have your own fairy tale. You will survive" she smiled and whistled. The small blue bird landed on her outstretched palm and she whispered something to it. It nodded its tiny head and started to circle the room.

"It is searching for the first person to be shown what to do" Miss White said and she whistled again. The bird suddenly dived and people sat excitedly waiting to be chosen. Except me and Lexi. Then Lexi began to scream and I saw the bird on her head. "Get it off!" She yelled as she shook her head. The bird began to peck at her until I picked up my book and smacked the bird. The blue ball sqauwked as it flew into the hands of a boy as he glared at me.

I looked down at Lexi who was still hitting about her head "Its gone!" I shouted as I grabbed her hands. I looked at the teacher who was glaring at me. "Rule #1 Do not harm the animals!" She shouted flustered.

"The stupid thing attacked her!" I yelled back. The woman glared at me.

"It chose her and she scared it" she hissed. She took her bird from the boy who was still glaring at me. She stroked its small head. "Dentention!"

"Already got it!" I snapped as I sat down in a huff. Lexi still looked shaken and my breaths were heavy as I tried to get my temper under control.

The class went past in a breeze after that. Miss White called up student after student and showed them how to tame a horse, a stag etc. It turned out that all classes were one day long so once class was over you went back to your rooms for the night. Except if you had dentention...
