How to Princess - Series

Chapter 3

I walked into detention and sat in a very dusty chair. A cloud of dust made me cough and then the door swung open and Ethan came in. He sat behind me and I could feel him smirking.

Lexi followed behind shortly and had fixed her hair, Tristan wasnt far behind. He glared at me and Ethan before sitting down in front of us. Lexi sat beside Tristan. We looked around and I spotted a single chair that was clean. My head cocked to the side as I thought and then the door swung open and another boy walked in. He was chewing gum and he sat in the clean chair.

Mr Jones came in last. He glared at us all before sitting at the desk. "The first day of term and our population has increased" he muttered. "My job is to find something for you to do tonight" He started to rummage through the papers on the desk and growled when his hook speared three or four sheets of paper. Grumbling he pulled them away before smiling. "I've got it"

He lead us outside and into a field full of sheep. They were all coloured in bright pinks, blues, yellows etc. "Your job is to herd them over there" Mr Jones said pointing to a pen across the field.

"Sir. Can we change first. I cant breathe in this dress, never mind chase a bloody sheep" I said gesturung to the red lace dress that I was still awkwardly pulling at. Lexi gave me a funny look "Long legs and short skirts dont mix well" I said still pulling it down.

Mr Jones laughed "No, you cannot change as a princess would never be seen without looking her best"

"Because I look just amazing right now" I said sarcastically.

"Im guessing we'll be seeing a lot of eachother Sapphire?" He said laughing "I'll be back when you're done". He waved his hook and he disappeared into a cloud of black smoke.

Ethan laughed. "Well then. Better get to it" he said and walked towards a pink sheep.

"Since when did you know anything about herding sheep?" I laughed and went after him.

I heard Tristan grumble "Its there fault we're here so they can do the work" and he sat on the ground. Lexi sat beside him and the boy followed us.

He walked up to me and smiled "Hi" he said "The name's Jake. Son of Belle and Adam"

My eyes lit up "Like Belle and Adam from Beauty and the Beast! But that's like my favourite story!"

He laughed. "Glad you enjoyed it. Who are your parents?"

"No one you would know" I said embarrassed.

"Oh. You're those kids that come from a world without magic. Right?" I nodded and he smiled "And you got detention on the first day! We are going to get along. So what did you do?"

I laughed "First I broke my shoe. Then I was talking during the ceremony. And then to top it all off I smacked one of Miss White's birds with my textbook. What 'bout you?"

He laughed "Didnt go to the ceremony. Hate those things. Never got the hang of the swords and stuff"

I laughed "Thats why the boys are here! Tristan's got a pollen allergy and the roses set him off. You can guess what happened next."

I heard Ethan shout at a sheep. I laughed until something came barreling into the back of my legs and threw me in the air. I fell down in a puddle of thick and sticky mud and screamed. I looked up and saw a sheep staring at me. "He's laughing at me. I know it" I glared at it.

I heard a thud beside me and saw Jake on the ground and then heard a scream and saw Ethan getting chased by a sheep. "These things are evil!" Jake laughed. I stood up and saw another sheep coming for me. I screamed and ran. "The pen!" Jake shouted and I understood. I sprinted towards the pen and then jumped over the back fence. I turned and saw a blue sheep staring at me from inside the pen. Ethan slammed the gate shut behind it. "One down. 99 more to go" he laughed.
