Chapter 15

I smiled as I walked down the stairs. People had started to notice me and he room started to quieten down. I stared at my bare feet as the kicked out from under my long dress. I finally looked up after I made it to the bottom of the stairs. I looked up and smiled at everyone. I raised my hand to wave and saw blacks shadows wrapped around my forearms. That must be why they're staring. I thought as I put my hand by my side.

"I've been hearing that people have been spreading rumours about me. This true?" I said still with a smile on my face. Everyone looked at eachother awkwardly.

I cocked my head to the side. I looked around and saw Ethan. I smiled and stepped forward towards him. "Ethan. You'll tell me the truth. Right?" I said as I held my hand out to him. He stepped back with a strange look on his face. Was that disgust or it might have been fear.

I sighed. I should have been hurt but I wasn't. That space was filled by anger and hatrid. I growled at him and stepped back again. "Where is she then? Huh? Lexi... I know you're there" I called out. I held my hand behind my back and spun around. Searching the crowd.

"This isnt you Saph. What's happened to you?" Lexi said stepping out from the crowd. Her hands were shaking but she held them to stop them.

"Guess I'm just a beacon for bad luck" I laughed.

"Dont be petty" she seethed.

"Shut up" I hissed looking at the floor.

"Saph, who are you talking to?" Lexi said as she stepped forward again.

"Yeah. Who are you talking to?" She said.

I glared at Lexi. "None of your buisness" I said jerking my head back up. "None of this is any of your buisness so keep out of it" I hissed as I stepped forward towards her. "Why do you have to ruin things just when they were getting good for me! You always had the perfect life and I always lived in your shadow!"

"Dont take it too far" she said. I shook her off and stepped forward again.

"She is too afraid to tell you how she really feels but I'm not and that's why she's finally let me out" I hissed. Lexi stepped back. I heard footsteps behind me.

"Saph stop!" Jasper yelled.

I spun to him. "Jasper! You're here as well. Perfect!"

"You were only meant to go after Lexi. Leave Jasper out of this. I'll deal with him" she almost pleaded.

"No you won't" I whispered. I looked back up at Jasper. "You. Why dont you like me? Is it because I hit the bird? Or is it something else?" I walked forward and put a finger on his chin. He pulled away at my touch but I never moved. I traced his jawline with my fingertip and smiled. I went on my tip-toes and went to his ear. "What is it that makes you hate me so much?" I whispered. "You can tell me and I might not hurt you" I smiled as I pulled away.

He looked at me with fear in his eyes before he turned and glared at Jake "Fix her" he hissed before disapearing into the crowd. I turned to Jake and walked towards him. I held my hand out. I smiled "I always had a soft spot for you. Even right now I know I could never hurt you. Because I think I might have..."

"Stop" she hissed.

I laughed. Touchy subject. "She doesnt want that to be told yet. I have a feeling it might be revealed soon" I giggled. I looked at my outstretched hand. "I don't bite" I laughed "Well I might but I guess you'll just have to take that risk"

He shook his head. I cocked my head to the side "I'm joking about the biting thing. Go on. Take it. Please Jake" he stepped back. "Saph I can't. There's something wrong with you. But we can help"

I took a deep breath and glared at him. "There's nothing wrong with me. Take my hand Jake" I said. There was a hint of panic in my voice. He was giving up on me. Why would he give up on me. He shook his head and ran towards my fathers door. My hand dropped and he turned to look back once he got to the door.

"I knew this was a bad idea. You messed up so back you go" she sighed.

I grabbed my head. She couldn't put me back. I hated it there. I couldn't do anything but watch as she messed up. She was the opposite of me in every way. "No. I'm not going back. Dont put me back"

I hissed. Lexi stepped forward and put a hand on my shoulder. I flinched at her touch. "She's going to put me back. I hate that she's in control. This is the first time she's let me out. For this long anyway. In the other world I couldn't stay out long but here... I can thrive if she lets me"

"What are you talking about Saph?" Lexi asked. Jake ran back in with Hook on his tail. They watched me from the door. Hook watched me with a smile on his face. He said something to Jake who looked torn between coming to get me and staying to watch.

"It's confusing. I don't understand fully myself. I know more than she does but know she knows. She thinks I'm her temper I guess. She can let me out and pull me back but sometimes she gets so annoyed that she lets me out by accident. But she's trying to pull me back but I'm fighting back. But like usual she's winning" I strained to stay in control of my own mind. Suddenly I relaxed "And she just won" I said as I fell to the floor.

I blinked a few times as my vision cleared. I pushed myself off the cold floor and rubbed my head. She was screaming at me but I pushed her away to the back of my mind where I couldn't hear her. I smiled and sat up. "What did she do?" I hissed as I looked around. I watched as I wigfled my bare toes. "And why does she hate shoes so much?" I pushed myself up and everyone stepped back.

"She's gone. Deep in here where she can't do any damage" I said as I tapped my head.

Jake ran over to my and grabbed my arms. "Are you okay?" He said as he looked me over.

I frowned and pushed him away. "Why didn't you take my hand? It was a simple thing that would have made us happy but you ran"

He looked at me confused. "It wasn't you. Your powers took over again but you're better now"

I stepped away. "There was nothing to get better from Jake. And that wasn't my powers. That's a side of me I like to hide but it's still me" I said as I turned away.

"I know you and that wasn't you" He said as he grabbed my arm again. "Maybe you should see the fairies"

"I dont need to see the fairies Jake! You obviously dont know me as well as you thought you do" I hissed before shaking from his grip and running up the stairs. I felt tears springing to my eyes and I wiped them away. I knew I shouldnt have let her stay out. I should have pulled her back as soon as she got out but I let her have her fun because I wanted to see what she was going to do.

I ran into my room and slammed the door shut. I threw myself down on my bed and screamed into the pillow. I heard the door creak open. "Go away!" I yelled into the pillow.

I heard them chuckle and the door shut again. I felt the bed move as someone sat on the bed beside me. I sat up and turned to glare at the intruder. I turned and looked into the dark eyes of my father. I took a deep breath and held it as I scanned the room for anyone else. Happy everyone was gone I released the breath and crumpled into his chest. I gripped onto his jacket as I cried.

I'm not sure why I was crying but there was so much built-up emotion inside me. I shook as sobs escaped and I felt strong arms wrap around me and pull me closer. He kissed the top of my head "Oh Willow. Of course it would happen to you" he whispered.

I smiled as he stroked my hair. The door opened and he jerked up. I hid in his jacket because I didnt want anyone to see me like this. "If you dont leave right now I'm expelling you!" He shouted and I heard a squeal and the door shut and soft footsteps were heard running away.

"Who was it" I said trying to hide a giggle.

"Ava Rose" he whispered.

"I think you finally woke her up" I said and laughed. He chuckled as I straightened up. "Thanks. Please don't tell anyone I was crying" I whispered.

He wiped the tears from my cheeks. "You're secret's safe with me" he whispered as I rested my head on his shoulder.
