Chills ran down my back and I rolled my shoulders back to try and get them to go away. I watched as the sun set behind the small town below the castle. "Hey Jasper?" I asked without taking my eyes of the town.

"Yes Kitten?" He said. I could tell he was grinning without seeing him.

"Can I go down to the town tomorrow?" I ask. I was almost nervous of his response. "I mean it's going to be my bir-"

"No. There is no way I'm letting you out of this castle until I know I can trust you" Jasper stopped me. I could hear him slide of the bed and walk towards me. He grabbed my shoulders and spun me to look at him. He wiped the drying tears away from under my eyes and tilted my head up.

"Trust me?" I said stepping away. My eyes were wide with shock. "Trust me? If I want to go down to the town tomorrow I am going to the town tomorrow!" I cried out and walked over to the bathroom hoping to shut myself inside away from him.

Just as I opened the door he slammed it closed and I let out a small scream and jumped back into his chest. He spun me again and I glared into his eyes. "No. You're staying right here where I can keep my eye on you. It will be that way until the wedding" he said and let go of my shoulders.

I stomped my foot and he raised an eyebrow at me. "There will be no wedding because I'm not getting married to you!" I screamed. "I will not be the queen! And I will certainly not be your wife! Tomorrow I turn 18 and I am going out whether you like it or not!"

"Tomorrow's your birthday?" He said shocked.

"Yes tomorrow's my birthday. Is that a problem?"

"No. No problem. And yes you will be the queen and you will be my wife" he smiled.

I let out a frustrated cry. "Do you ever listen to a word I say! Do I have to spell it out for you! I. Am. Not. Marrying. You!"

He shook his head and walked over to the drawer where Saph was and pulled out a small gold seashell. He waved his hand over it and came towards me. "Took this from Triton himself. I didn't want to have to do this Willow. I really didnt" he thrust it towards me and I closed my eyes.

Nothing happened.

I opened my eyes and saw him smirking. I grinned and put my hands on my hips. I opened my mouth to say something but nothing came out. I tried again but my voice was gone. My eyes widened and I clawed at my throat. I kept trying to speak. To scream. Anything. "You can get it back in the morning" Jasper said as if he was a father who had just taken a toy from his child.

Jasper with kids. That's a thought. Oh god does that mean he wants kids with me? No no no. Not happening. Not in a million years. "It's late come to bed" Jasper said as he took off his shirt and went into the bed.

I folded my arms and shook my head. There was no way I was getting in the bed beside him. "There's something you can sleep in in your closet" he shrugged and I glared at him before walking into the closet and seeing a pair of black shorts and a white vest. I changed into them and went back into the room.

"Hurry up. We have a long day tomorrow" Jasper said and sat up. I shook my head again. He smirked "We wouldnt want anything to happen to Daddy Dearest would we?"

I gasped and ran over to the bed and slid under the covers. I faced away from him and went to the very edge of the bed. He shrugged and slid back down in the bed. I closed my eyes and waited for sleep to take over.

I woke up in the dirt. I had every morning for the past year. I looked around and saw the twisting shapes of the trees as the sun rose. I picked myself up off the floor and heard a giggle. I groaned and started walking away from the sound. I could hear footsteps behind me and started running. Usually it took them longer to find me.

I sped up and jumped over a fallen tree. A low branch scraped my arm but I bit my lip and kept running. Voices began talking. The Hatter. Usually it was Alice they sent after me. Why was he coming?

Fear coursed through my veins and I began to feel pressure at my fingertips as the shadows tried to break free. I struggled to hold them back.

Just a few more minutes. I kept running and just like every other day I had no clue where I was going. I saw the thorned bushes and covered my head as I kept running. I burst out the other side and was greeted by the table I had been running from. But this time there were more guests.

Tristan sat gobbling cakes and Ethan drank tea like there was no tomorrow. Lexi gossiped with Alice as if they were best friends and Felix chatted with my father like it was just a normal day. Caelan sat like he was waiting for something or someone and when he saw me his eyes lit up. I smiled and was about to go see him when I heard a voice whisper. "Don't do anything you might regret"

I stopped and spun but when I looked back it was just me alone in the forest. I ran a hand through my hair and closed my eyes as my brain spun.

I heard chatter and opened my eyes. Jake stood infront of me and he looked terrified. I looked down and saw a sword sticking into his chest. I followed the sword until the hand that held it. My own.

I gasped and dropped the sword as Jake dropped face first to the floor. I felt a hand on my shoulder and turned to see Jasper smiling at me. "You'll make an amazing queen" he whispered.

I sat upsight and tried to control my breathing as my body shook. I was covered in sweat and sobbing. "Shh" I heard someone say in the background. "It's alright. I got you" he said. I turned and saw Jasper looking back at me. His blond hair was ruffled and his eyes were hardly awake.

I whimpered slightly and he pulled me towards him. I flinched when my cold body hit his warm chest. It brought back a memory. Caelan. I smiled and Jasper chuckled. He wiped the tears from my face and I relaxed. I didn't have the energy to fight back. Not tonight.

I felt my breathing calm and I settled in his arms as he leaned back. I felt myself fall asleep and at that moment I didn't care who's arms I was in.
