Chapter 7 – Sapphire & Diamond Studded Bracelet
Nasa coffee shop ako ngayon with Ella, hinihintay ko si Daniel kasi mago-out of town daw kami.
“Rein, hindi naman sa in-doubt ako jan kay Daniel, pero sure na ba?”
“Anong klaseng tanong yan Ella? Of course.”
“Rein kasi sa nakikita ko, you like Daniel kasi nakikita mo si Michael sakanya.” Bigla nalang ako napaisip sa sinabi niya. Hindi kaya tama siya? Eto nanaman tayo.
“Hi, Rein. Ready ka na ba?” Bigla nalang dumating si Daniel from behind and handed me a boquet of flowers. Nagpa-alam na kami kay Ella after a while.
Si Daniel lang nagdrive nang car since kaming dalawa lang naman ang magsa-stay sa Batangas for 3 days. While he was driving, I can’t help but to notice that he looks really stressed this past few weeks.
He has dark circles around his eyes and parang pumapayat na siya. Kahit papano, I’m worried about him. Baka naman kasi masyado siyang pine-pressure nang parents niya sa pagiging future CEO. Nakaka-awa na din siya.
And napansin ko din na parang may gusto siyang sabihin saakin pero hindi niya masabi.
“Daniel, are you not telling me something lately? Napansin ko kasi na masyadong kang stressed.”
He held my hand and touched it to his face. “No, I’m okay. Madami lang kasing work. Pero okay lang, at least I have this 3 day vacation with you.” Tapos kiniss niya yung hand ko.
Natulog muna kami pagkadating namin doon since 2:00pm palang naman. We woke up around 5pm and nagbihis na kami ng pang swimming. I wore my two-piece swimsuit which caused the boys at the beach to look at me.
Si Daniel naman, nakaboard shorts lang kaya tumitingin din yung mga girls sakanya. Ang hot kasi with his angelic na maypagka bad boy face and his perfect abs. Ay grabe. Hot talaga. Pero yung mga girls na tumitingin. Pft. Landi ah. Parang hindi nila ako nakikita. Haha.
Inakbayan naman ako ni Daniel para naman daw malaman nung mga boys na may kasama na ako. Haha. Ang cute magselos. The beach was kind of private and only members of the club can go here.
There were sets of comfortable cushions with rolled neck pillows, foot rest and a side table in between that were scatered at the beach side. Umupo muna kami ni Daniel in one of those. He held my wrist and made me sit in his lap. Sumandal ako sakanya and I rested my head on his shoulder while my hands were hugging him.
“Ah, Rein, sorry to ask, but what does “M” stand for?” Bumitaw ako hug namin and looked at him. He just gave me the curious look.
Nagtataka ako kung anong tinatanong niya when I remembered my small tattoo on my back. A capital M was written near the strap of my swimwuit. I got that tattoo on my eighteenth birthday. Michael and I had matching tattoos before.
“Does that stand for Michael?” He asked me with his brown orbs staring right into my eyes.
Naguilty ulit ako. “Yes.” Then I looked away from him.
“Hey, You don’t need to feel sorry for me. I’m fine with it. I promise.” He hugged me again and kahit papano, nabunutan ako nang tinik. “I’m hungry. Hindi pa tayo kumakain. You want to eat?”
“Buti nalang tinanong mo! I’m dead hungry! Saan tayo kakain?”
We just stood up and hinila niya ako papunta sa isang retaurant sa may sea side din. Seafoods ang mostly na inorder niya.
