The snack pack covered their faces and gasped.

"You lost him?? How in the entire village did you loose him?? You guys live with him!" Suki practically shouted as Chenille tried to calm her down. Branch gulped and spoke.

"Well.. We actually don't live with him anymore.. we thought it was a good idea to stay in the bunker and give him some space."

The group gave each other a look and frowned.

"Maybe he's upset about you two leaving.." Softly spoke Satin.

The teal troll was silent as he thought about his father-in-law. Putting himself in his shoes, he thought about how he would feel if his daughter was taking on a new life, in what felt like a blink of an eye. As much as he felt better on knowing why he left, he couldn't help but feel this large lump in his throat.

"This is all my fault.." Branch said while rubbing his temples.

"Oh Branch, don't be too hard on yourself. If you would like, we can help you!" Biggie insisted, but the teal troll refused politely.

"As much as I'd love the help, if that's why he's gone, I gotta find him on my own. Thank you though."

Looking at each other again, they gave their friend a smile. Branch was slightly confused and asked why they were looking at each other like that.

"You might want to look up in that tree." Guy Diamond spoke, pointing upwards. Looking that direction, he saw that two orange feet were dangling, and couldn't help but beam, hugging his friends.

After them practically pushing him to go up to see Peppy, he finally did. Using his hair, he whipped himself up to where the former king was sitting. His colors were slightly dull, but not too bad. Branch sat beside him, trying to make eye contact.

"So, I think I know why you're hiding in this tree.." The orange troll looked up at him with a frown, much like his daughter's when she had lost hope with saving the village from the burgens.

     "You wanna talk about it..?"

Sorry for the short chapter! Today was a horrible day for me, but I didn't want to go to sleep not putting something out there. Love you!
