Meeting Mrs.Hanyu

It's not that fun playing UNO with just two people, let me tell you that. Especially if that one other person likes to cheat.

"God Yuzu, you have to pick up 4 cards that's what the plus four card means!" I shout at him

The two of us are sat at the kitchen table across from each other in a heated game of UNO.

No matter how many times I tell him the rules to the game, he always insists that he's playing it properly.

I think this is just his way of getting to win.

He pulls 4 cards from the middle of the deck and adds them to his pile.

The card in the middle is a blue 5, so I slap down two 5's. The top being a green.

Yuzu scans his pile and pulls out a green 3.

Finally, he's playing the game right.

The game goes on and on and on.

"UNO" Yuzu shouts

What!

"You what!"

I stare at him from across the table and see that he's got one card in his hands.

Crap,crap,crap!

I still have 3 cards left and the card in the stack is a red 1.

In total panic, I look down at my deck: blue 3, yellow 4, green 2.

That's it. I'm gonna lose.

"Mmmm..."He says looking at his card then the one in the stash

DO SOMETHING MAN YOU'RE STRESSING ME OUT!

"Mmmmm...can't play a card"He says and picks up another one from the deck

I pick a card as well.

A red plus 2.

"Yeaaaaaaaaaaah boyyyyyyy" I say as I pump my right fist in the air, slapping the card down in victory

Yuzu let's out a small groan as he reaches out to pick two cards from the deck, then slapping down a red 2

Goodbye green 2.

He puts down a yellow 2.

"Block!"I shout before he can call Uno

Thus letting him pick another card up.

I can play my yellow 4 but I gotta do it in a way which he won't notice...

"Can you tell me the time please?" I ask casually

Yuzu pulls out his phone and looks at the screen.

"Uhh..it's 12:00 p.-"

"Uno!" I shout at the top of my lungs

"YOU CHEATER! YOU DISTRACTED ME!" He accuses

"NO I DIDN'T" I say defending myself

"ARE YOU CALLING ME A LIAR?"

"WELL I AIN'T CALLING YOU A TRUTHER " I shoot back

"Fine then.." He mutters and plays a blue 6

"UNO!" He calls

"See Charlie, I didn't have to cheat my way to an UNO" he say jokingly

"Oh.. that's nice Yuzu-kun, but it seems to me that I win" I say dropping my last card

DROP THE MIC CHARLIE! YOU OWNED THIS GAME!

"BUDA BING BUDA BOOM!" I yell jumping out of my chair, doing a little victory dance

"Ok, ok I get it" Yuzu says laughing at my poor dancing

I stop pumping my fists and dancing like a donkey, when we hear the sound of the front door open.

"Yuzu, honey are you home?" Calls a Japanese woman

"In the kitchen mom" Yuzu calls

A middle aged women soon enters the kitchen with a black purse in hand.

"Who's this?" She asks looking in my direction

"Hi, I'm Charlotte. I skate with Yuzuru at the Cricket Club" I tell her with a small bow of my head

"Oh, you're very pretty, sweetheart" She tell me sincerely

"Thank you Mrs. Hanyu" I say in thanks

She give me a bright smile then adds,"Isn't that right Yuzu?"

The two of us turn to Yuzuru's direction and he stares at us with a stunned look.

I blush at Mrs. Hanyu's question to Yuzu and wait expectingly...

"I think she's more than pretty mom, she's beautiful" he says with a small blush

Aweeeeee!

But did he just say that because he was questioned by his mom..?

I shine a bright smile in his direction as he smiles back at me.

"I'm gonna go make dinner alright kids. Will you be joining us for dinner tonight Charlotte?" Mrs. Hanyu asks me

"No, it's alright I don't want to be a bother" I tell her

"No,no don't worry it's not a problem at all. Stay. Unless you have something to do later" She tells me

"Ok, but only if you don't mind" I say finally agreeing

I see her pull out some ingredients from the fridge and rush over to where she's standing near the stove.

"Do you need some help?" I ask

"Oh no, not at all. You're a guest. Why don't you go keep Yuzu company?"

I turn to look at Yuzu as he watches his mom and I converse.

I nod my head at Mrs. Hanyu before walking over to Yuzu.

"Come, I wanna show you my collection of Winnie the Pooh's. Even though you probably saw them already.." He trails off

"Oh yeah, you bet I did...."

As we walk down the halls and towards the stairs, I decide to pull his strings a little.

"So, you think I'm beautiful huh?"

"Only because I think you're adorable, Charlie-san" he tells me and ruffles my long black hair

"Hey!" I call swatting his hand

And the two of us make our way up the stairs to his room.
