Fly like the Wind

A/N: Sorry for the shitty chapter!!! I was really busy today and didn't really have ideas to finish this chapter 

"Hi I'm Lian Chu, here with me is the Cup of China's female champion Charlotte Akagi. Charlotte please tell us about your free skate"

I'm standing backstage with an interviewer, where I'm being questioned about my free skate performance

"Well I gave it my all today. Of course my main goal is to get to the Grand Prix final and then Worlds so having a good fall season is vital for me. Requiem was a song I wanted to skate to for a while now and I think I did Mozart justice today with my skate" I answer

"Great words, now tell us. Why did you switch out of that beautiful Armani dress?" she asks, moving the microphone towards me

"Oh you know, a Mafia member sent it to me. The usual"

Of course I didn't say that. Instead my answer was "I wanted to change things up a bit. Armani was just too good for me to skate in"I joke

"It's always good to change things up. Hopefully we see it again some time! We'll that's all we have today folks. Charlotte, thank you for your time and best of luck in the future" she says wrapping up the interview

"Thank you" I reply back kindly, shaking her hand

I exit the backstage and head towards the main ice where the men's free skate warm up is taking place. Javi and Yuzu are on the ice as well as my other friends, Patrick, Nathan and Shoma

I watch from the stands as Yuzu jumps into his quad loop, landing effortlessly. I see Javi turn into his combination spin while Patrick jumps into his triple axel. Shoma is on the opposite end of the ice going into his quad toe while Nathan skates into his quad lutz

"Gentlemen your 6 minute warm up is now over. Please clear the ice"

The boys clear the ice as the first skater takes his place, preparing himself for his free skate

Time flies by and soon it's Yuzu's turn. The rank so far goes, Patrick, Nathan, Javi with the last skater being Yuzu 

I watch Coach say something to Yuzu and he nods his head quickly, saying something to himself before skating off the centre of the ice

The crowd goes wild as well as myself. This is his moment. He's going to own it and make it his 

I know it

The opening chords to his music "Hope and Legacy" fill the air of the rink, letting the gentle music enchant the crowd's ears

He skates into his opening jump; the quad loop. Unknowingly, I feel myself cross both fingers praying he lands the quad

And he does

"YES!" I shout jumping from my seat as he sticks the landing on the jump 

He lands in a spread eagle moving into his second quad; the quad sal. He lands this too

I have a good feeling about this program, I really do

His program is almost too good not to watch. The way he's able to climb up into his jumps and spin his body three or four rotations amazes me

He skate into his first spin making himself look like a tornado of colour. He pulls his right leg above his head, doing a Biellman. I, a girl myself, find that spin difficult and the fact that he can pull it off so effortlessly adds to his beauty and grace

Sometimes when Yuzu competes you forget he's skating in competition. It's almost like it's just him, the ice, and the music and for some reason I feel like I'm there with him

Yuzu ends his performance with a light smile on his face. This was probably his best free skate so far this season considering his performance at Skate Canada wasn't the cleanest

I can't wait to hear the results and I'm betting he can't either

He skates to the boards and pulls Coach into a hug. Before he get's off he bows to the ice like he normally does then slips his guards on, following Coach to the Kiss & Cry

Coach hands Yuzu Pooh-san and he gives him a tight squeeze before taking a seat 

He smiles and jokes around with Coach before the cameras pan over to him and the scores show up on the screen with the announcer's voice filling the stadium

"The free skate scores please for Yuzuru Hanyu of Japan..."

Please, the scores will be huge. I know it

"...220.98. The total score is 321.77 a season's best; he is in first place. This concludes the Men's Free skate"

Wow, he almost beat his world record!

I run from the stands with my long untied hair blowing behind me

I need to hug him

Like right now

"Hey Charlie-sa-"

"Yuzu!" I shout jumping into his arms

His body jerks back a bit due to the force I pushed onto him but he hugs back anyways

"I'm so proud of you" I say tearing up a bit

I know this isn't his first gold, that's for sure. It's one of his many, but I can't help but cry anyways. Maybe it's because I thought I lost him to Evgenia or maybe my love for him is just getting stronger

"No Charlie-san, I'm proud of you" he whispers into my ear

"We did it" I confirm, whispering back into his ear

"Anything is possible when you learn to fly like the wind"
