Time Skip: Skate Canada International
October 27-30, 2016
Mississauga, Ontario
"UNO" Shoma shouts as he holds a single card in the air.
"Not for long punk!" I yell back in Japanese, looking down at my own card.
The time has come for skaters all over the globe to compete in Skate Canada International. We're all hoping to place and gain a chance in competing at the Grand Prix Final.
If you're wondering what's happening now, a bunch of us Senior skaters are gathered in Javi's hotel room.
The air in the room starts to get tense as everyone realizes Shoma and I are neck in neck to winning this round of UNO.
The two other players in the game, Patrick and Gracie, don't stand a chance since they got hit with so many plus cards. Their decks are full.
But it's down to me and Shoma.
It's my turn but I can't play so I grab a card from the deck.
Crap! I still can't play.
"Be careful Shoma, she likes to cheat" Yuzu says in Japanese, laughing a little at his own joke
"How many times do I have to tell you that I won fair and-"
"I WIN"
My head snaps from Yuzu to Shoma and I look in horror as I realize he's won the game.
"WHAT!" I scream
"Hey Charlie-chan,what happened to being the best UNO player in the world?" Yuzu asks as he's doubled over laughing on the bed across from where we're playing.
"Leave your girlfriend alone citrus boy!" Javi shouts as he grabs a pillow and whacks it at Yuzu's head
"Wait you guys are dating?" Maia asks
Oh no.
No,no,no,no,no
When shit gets out in the skating community, it gets out there.
"Oh, I see it! They would look cute together!" Kaetlyn says excitedly
"Awe and they could raise a bunch of Pooh bears together. How cute!" Scott adds
"Thanks Javi" I mumble
"Ooo, look she's blushing!" Tessa squeals, clapping her hand excitedly
My hands immediately shoot up to my cheeks and I feel the warm heat rising up to my face.
"Yuzu, you shouldn't be embarrassed. We all love Charlie!" Nathan says, pulling me into a bear hug
