God why can't I go to sleep?

I'm sitting between Javi and Yuzu on the plane while Coach has a seat in the row behind us. Everyone on the plane seems to be asleep except me. Go figure. I never seem to catch any sleep anyways. This is the last competition of the season and I'm determined to make it a good one due to my screw up at Four Continents. I need to have a clean skate one last time before the Olympics season next year. Not only is skating on my mind right now, but so is the name Katsu Akagi...

Why do these thoughts need to invade my mind at a time like this?

"Charlie-chan? You're still awake?" Yuzu whispers to me from his spot to my left

"Yeah...I can't sleep" I whisper back

Yuzu reaches his left arm around me and pulls my head to nuzzle into his neck, keeping me there in a comforting manner.

"What's bothering you?" 

Even though this isn't the best time to explain something to him, I thought Yuzu needs answers anyways. He's my boyfriend. He deserves to know what's happening and what's going on. 

"When I was kidnapped I snuck into Jordan's office. I found a file containing information about myself. Some of which I didn't even know myself. Some guy named Katsu Akagi once lead the Yakuza. Someone in my bloodline. Jordan wrote something on the side of the piece of paper. He said he needed to marry into the family to fuse both gangs. My parents never said anything about there being someone in our family being related to gang activity. They always made our family out to be perfect. They never mentioned someone named Katsu..." I explain 

Yuzu stays quiet for a while, probably giving the new information some thought. 

"Well now theres more information to go along. I would propose asking Keith, but he's in prison so getting ahold of him won't be too eas-"

"He's in prison?" I whisper-yelled "Again?"

"Yeah when Romano kidnapped you they found Keith at the house. They thought he brought out the crime which is kind of stupid since he was just as knocked out as we were and if he was there it wouldn't explain why you weren't. I'm telling you the cops wouldn't even hear him out" he whispers back 

"Then I guess we need to figure this out ourselves" 

"Yeah, but for now you need to sleep. Your free skate is tomorrow. You need to rest" he says patting my head softly 

"Alright. Stay close to me Yuzu" I tell him closing my eyes

"Always"

"Charlotte! I can't wait to compete against you again, but this time in your top form!" Kaetlyn smiles wrapping an arm around me 

"Our girl's finally out of crutches and ready to kick some ass!" Gabby laughs softly punching my shoulder

"As much as I want gold, I hope you go for your fourth World title!" Kaetlyn laughs 

All our friends have gathered in Javi's hotel room like we always do to catch up one last time

"She'll get that gold without a problem if she keeps those quads in her programs. Over 92 points is crazy for a short program in the women's category" Nathan cuts in

"Hey was that meant to be sexist?! Charlotte can easily get over 100 points if she puts in two quads!" Ashley intervenes   

"Was not! I'm just saying Charlotte's really pushing the competition here" Nathan say raising his hands in defence

"Oh ok I hear you Mr. 'I have 5 quads in my free program' "  Ashley says making quotation marks with her hands to emphasis her sarcasm

"Thanks guys, but I'm not doing any quads in this competition" I quickly add

"What why? Your jumps are beautiful" Patrick comments

"I just got off an injury. I think quads are at the bottom of my list right now. I just need to focus on the triples right now. Besides, getting a score in the 90s for a short program is enough of an achievement for me right now" 

"Well I think if we ladies can do it, it would be nice to put a Canadian women podium" Gabby smiles 

"That is if we can fend off all the amazing Russian skaters" Kaetlyn adds 

"Evgenia's a given to be on the podium. At this point I think I'd be more surprised if she wasn't on the podium" Karen points out 

"That's right. At this point I think it's between her and Charlie for the gold" Gracie smiles

"What? I'm not even in my top form guys" 

As the conversation continues, the door opens up and Yuzu enters carrying the bottle of Coke I asked him to get me from the vending machine 

And then it happens, almost as if it were in slow motion. When his hand passes the bottle to me, it brushes by my fingers. His ring hand passes by m ring hand...

"Did you see that?" Patrick whispers to Javi 

"They've been home for a month. I can't believe I didn't notice that before!" Javi whispers back 

"CONGRATS ON YOUR MARRIAGE GUYS!" Scott screams at the top of his lungs 

"EEEK! Yuzu that's such a nice rock you got her! Can I see, can I see?" Meagan asks jumping up from her spot 

"Dude congrats! I didn't think you two would move this fast but hey I'm not hating" Alex smiles

"Charlotte! I'm so proud of you. Growing up so fast I see" Maia cheers

"Guys this isn't a proposal ring. It's a pre-prep proposal ring" Yuzu announces sounding very proud of his idea

".....Dude....that's lame" Shoma announces 

"Hey! It's a great idea" Yuzu shouts jumping to the other bed that Shoma sits on, ready to give him a beating 

"I'm so proud of my kids" Javi laughs wiping away a fake tear 

What great friends I've got, right?
