Four Continents

2 Weeks Later...

Location: Gangneung, South Korea

"Charlie-chan, you should go to sleep" Yuzu whispers from beside me on the plane. "I still need to memorize this part. I promise Yuzu-kun when I'm done I'll sleep" I tell him keeping my eyes glued to the pages of my textbook. Coach, Yuzu, and I were on our way to South Korea where we'll be competing at the Four Continents Championship. Javi had to stay back though, since he doesn't represent one of the countries that qualify for the competition. The rest of the plane was deep in slumber except me and the exception of Yuzu ,who refuses to go to sleep until I do

"Charlie-chan I can't sleep unless I cuddle you" he whines leaning his head on my left shoulder. "Yuzu-kun cuddle Pooh-san" I tell him reading over the same paragraph again. "He's not the same" he whines, rubbing his messy head of hair into my shoulder. "Cuddle Coach then" I laugh trying to ween him off me. "No but," he steals a quick glance at Coach's sleeping form before turning to look back at me, "He's scary when he's sleeping" he whispers. "Alright, alright because I love you to death I'll cuddle" I tell him shutting my textbook and shoving the large book back into my carry on bag. I rest my head onto of his before closing my eyes and getting some shut eye with Yuzu's hand tangled in mine

Once we got through the airport and settled in our hotel rooms, Coach, Yuzu, and I went to the rink where we'll be competing

"Wow I can't believe this is the venue you guys will be skating at for the Olympics" Coach say staring at the rink completely gob smack

"Ah please don't mention the Olympics. I finally got my stuff back together after living in fear of the Olympic title" I tell Coach with a hint of playfulness in my voice

"Hopefully I can finally win a Four Continents title this year" Yuzu says watching the zamboni glide across the ice

"You can do it Yuzu. I believe in you. We all know how much you hate silver medals" Coach laughs patting him on the shoulder

The ladies event followed by pairs are the first two events to take place in the competition, meaning I was competing in less than two hours

"Alright you two, let's get backstage so that Charlotte can get ready and prepare for for her warm up. Let's nail that quad alright Charlie?" Coach asks patting my back in excitement

"Ah yes, the quads. Let's just hope nothing goes wrong"

"Alright, how ya feeling?" Coach asks as I skate up to the boards after warm up

"Good actually. I managed to land 2 of my quad attempts so let's see how it goes. If luck is on my side today, I'll get the quad." I tell him stepping off the ice and slipping on my guards

"Alright, so new season's best?" He asks jokingly nudging my arm and walking with me backstage where I wait for my turn to skate

"A girl can only dream" I laugh taking a seat and unlacing my skates and drying the blades. I have plenty of time seeing as skate 20th out of 23 skaters. "Let's keep you warm alright Charlie" Coach says passing me my skipping rope and the two of us walk off to find some space for me practice

"Not bad at all. I'm surprised that the quad went well" Coach laughs patting my back and passing me my skate guards

"I'm surprised too to be honest. This was probably my best skate so far" I laugh giving Coach a tight hug 

I'm hoping I pulled enough points to beat my old record. Not to be cocky, but it seems with the way I skated I'm in for another World Record. I managed to pull off the quad sal with a clean spread eagle landing, my triple axel was clean, and so was my triple lutz combination. Maybe this time I'll make it past 87 points...

I wait in the Kiss & Cry with Coach and watch as my face is reflected onto the screen hanging just above the ice. I smile and wave at the camera to show the crowd my appreciation as I wait for the scores to be called out 

"The scores please, for Charlotte Akagi of Canada...."

"Here we go" Coach says excitedly in anticipation 

"Hold my hand please" I whisper to him nervously raising my right hand and grabbing his left, giving it a tight squeeze 

"....92.76! She is currently in first place" 

"YES!" I shout shooting up from my seat and throwing my arms around Coach 

"We did it!" I laugh, tears of joy streaming down my face

"New world record for Team Cricket! The standard has been raised!" Coach laughs raising my right hand in the air

"Charlie-chan! Congrats on the world record. I'm so proud of you!" he says running up to me and giving me a kiss on the lips 

"Thank you Yuzu-kun. Now bring me a gold tomorrow in the short alright?" I tell him picking up my small gold medal and wrapping it around his neck 

"Charlie-chan, do you know what today is?" he asks pulling me closer to him so he's whispering in my ear

"Umm...the first day of Four Continents?" I ask obliviously

"It's Valentine's day!" he says looking at me with a serious look

"OH MY GOODNESS Yuzu! I'm so sorry I forgot" I tell him slapping my forehead in disbelief 

With all the stress I've been under recently, I forgot today was Valentine's day...

"It's alright Charlie-chan..I actually forgot today was Valentine's day as well" he laughs nervously scratching the back of his head awkwardly

"Oh, well that's ok. We can do something now if you want" I tell him honestly

"I'd like that. I don't skate until tomorrow and I think spending the day before with you would be good luck" he jokes grabbing my hand

Coach follows the two of us out of the area as we walk hand and hand

"Too bad Captain Javi isn't here. Third wheeling now.." I heard Coach grumble from behind us 

Today was a good day and to make matters better, I'm about to spend the rest of my day with my favourite guy
