The Games Continue

"Charlotte, how do you feel to be on top again?"

"Charlotte could you please tell us if there's a rivalry between you and Evgenia?"

"Charlotte, do you plan on going to the Olympics again in 2018?"

I'm currently sat with Evgenia and Mao at tables at a press conference

Apparently press in China is a huge thing

"I wouldn't say I'm at the top of the game, but it feels good to be close to the podium once again" I say answering the first question

"There is no rivalry between Evgenia and I. All friendly competition" I answer to the second question. Although I can't say my answer my whole hearted, I guess there IS a competition between the two of us but I can't say that out loud

"Yes, I do plan on competing at the Olympics in South Korea" I state

"Thank you for your time ladies, best of luck to each of you in the free" says the announcer in charge of this conference

"Hey Charlotte" Evgenia calls as the two of us are headed down the stairs to leave the conference room

"Hey" I say back, not really wanting to initiate in conversation

"I was wondering if you wanted to hang out?" she asks as we leave the room

Waiting outside for me was Javi, Coach, and Yuzu

"Umm, I'm not sure if I can now. I was gonna go sight seeing with Yuzu and Javi" I tell her

"Oh you can join us" Yuzu cuts in

My head shoots up at his reply and I can't help but give him a "What the fuck?" look

"Oh thank you Yuzu! I hope you guys don't mind though" she says

Of course I mind!

Especially the fact that he's fraternizing with the enemy!

"Sure, you can join us Evgenia" Javi says as we walk to the car

"So are you excited for the free program Charlotte?" Evegnia asks once we're in the car. She's sitting next to me in the backseat as I buckle up my belt

"I guess yeah" I say trying to avoid conversation at all cost

"What about you Yuzu?" she asks shooting him a question

From the passengers side I can see smile and say "I can't wait for the free! I really enjoyed choosing the song for my program and the whole thing means a lot to me"

"Oh Yuzu I love Pooh! I have this cat named Luna from Sailor Moon. It's from an anime" she says holding up the black cat plushie in her hands

I can't help but roll my eyes while hearing the conversation between the two. For the duration of the car ride the two laugh and convers about the animes they're watching. Personally, I haven't watched anime since I was like 8

As we pull up to the hotel, the two are still conversing about nonsense that I don't want to take part of

If he wants to talk to her, I'm not stopping him

Actually, he can do whatever he wants for all I care

The four of us split up into our separate hotel rooms, planning to meet by the elevators when we're done

As quickly as I can, I change out of my white dress and pull on the Gryffindor sweater Yuzu got me for my birthday and a pair of black leggings. Before I leave my room, I grab my hunter green jacket and slip my Timberland boots on

I head towards the elevators and the only one there is Yuzu

"Hey Charlie-san!" he calls greets, and grabs my hand

I so desperately want to pull my hand away and shove it in my pocket but I can't. I'm melted in his touch

"Charlie-san, you don't have a face mask on" he says and pulls out a spare from us jacket. His soft fingers reach over me and tuck the two rubber bands around my ears before slipping the soft mask over my mouth and nose

"Hey guys!" Javi calls, bursting from his room

He joins the two of us by the elevator and presses his face to my ears

"Charlie, I know you're jealous but don't kill the kid. She's just a fangirl and she's only 16. Give her a break, she's just meeting her idol" he whispers in my ear

Ok he does have a point but my instinct is to be jealous

"I'm ready to go guys!" Evgenia calls as she runs towards us

The four of us make our way into the elevator, me pressing 'lobby' while Evgenia and Yuzu start conversing about their favourite Japanese dishes

"I hope you know I'm sticking with you for this trip" I whisper to Javi

"Wow I didn't know you two were dating!" Evgenia calls out of the blue, looking at our entwined hands

"We're-"

"Not dating" I finish for Yuzu

The elevator dings as the four of us make our way out of the elevator to catch a cab

"I always wanted to hang out with other skaters!" Evgenia cheers as we pile into the cab

Ok this kid is way too happy for my liking

The cab driver starts to move and off we went

For the evening we decided it would be fun to hike the Great Wall and sample off food from food carts
