Sang
I was pulled forward by someone who had a bruising grip on my arm. I vaguely realized it was my brother.
Maro lead me to the stage and I obediently shuffled along in his wake. He didn't look happy, and he was no longer looking at me. Instead, he was resolutely studying the stairs that we were approaching.
I wanted to call out to him, he was my brother. Surely he was supposed to help me in situations like this?
I saw the stairs in front of me, and Maro left me on my own. I shook so hard that it was a miracle that I was still on my feet. I couldn't climb these stairs, I couldn't do anything.
I was going to die.
Everyone watched me, and no one dared to come near.
I was alone.
Suddenly, a manicured hand appeared in my line of sight. My eyes snapped up and I saw Khloe. She put her arm over my shoulders and pulled me into her side, almost protectively.
She whispered in my ear. "Are you Sang?"
I glanced at her, noticing that the microphone was gone from the front of her dress. I couldn't do anything more than nod and look up at her, she was taller than me - especially with the heels.
She looked even grouchier now, and mumbled something under her breath as she touched her ear again. However, when she turned her attention back on me her eyes sought out mine and she didn't appear to be angry at me at all.
I didn't know her from anyone else in town, but at this moment with the way that she looked at me with such sympathy and compassion... I clutched at the temporary line of support that had been offered to me.
For now, she appeared to be on my side. I nodded.
Khloe continued whispering directly into my ear, "It will be alright sweetheart, just come with me for now. We will sort it out later."
