The training hall quieted the second I entered. Gabriel was on one side of me, Victor on the other. It belatedly dawned on me that I had completely forgotten about the rest of the tributes seeing the broadcast the night before.
"Go on fuckers, I'm sure you all can find something else to stare at." Gabriel shot out in a loud voice, redirecting the attention to him. Victor moved closer to gripped my hand, and began to lead me to the corner where Thomas and Juliana stood.
As we walked through the crowded room, the whispering began and I fought the urge to flee as the eyes of every man present were on me. Some hostile now, some not so much. I wondered what it meant, and why people couldn't understand that I didn't want any of this.
To their credit, once we reached Thomas and Juliana neither one of them had much to say about my lineage - to which I was grateful. Instead, Juliana took on her normal demon gym master persona and picked right back up from where we had left off in my training and ordered me to run ten laps around the gym. She didn't seem to care that I had cramps, and honestly the medicine helped so I wasn't in pain.
Still though, today was going to suck.

It was late evening, and I was recovering from an exhausting day of training. I felt accomplished, because after running Juliana had taken pity on me and I had also learned some of the basics of archery as well. Finally, I felt like I was doing something worthwhile that might be of help to the boys during the games!
At the moment though, I was supposed to be learning about technological doodads with Victor while the others were out doing various activities. We sat across from each other on the floor, with the coffee table between us. Along with the impressive display of random pieces of mostly broken technology that Karen brought to our room for whatever reason.
We had also been supplied with a seemingly endless amount of coffee.
The second of which I was enjoying quite a lot, much like my current view of Victor's bare chest.
