Sang
North and Sean had arrived at some point during the night, but I had been too exhausted to give them much of a greeting.
In fact, both of them had been shirtless upon their arrival, for some reason. North had muttered something about diving for Cuddles, but even so, I fell asleep instead of ogling them.
This sleeping thing really sucked.
The next day was uneventful. Sean spent most of his time split between listening to me as I went over the little herbology knowledge that I did have, and sending North on weird missions.
I didn't even think that I wanted to know what that was about.
Meanwhile, everyone else had been busy with a mixture of patrolling, checking out the locations of the other tributes, and generally securing the area. However, it seemed pointless since we'd be moving soon anyway.
According to Owen we didn't want to stay in one place too long, otherwise we'd be a sitting target. So he wanted to give it a day or two before we relocated.
They seemed to be waiting for something, but I had no idea what.
Evening approached, and with it the knowledge that the death count for that day had been three - including another tribute from district six.
Owen and Sean had had some kind of conversation during the day, and afterwards Sean became obsessed with talking about my childhood illnesses. He wanted to know if I remembered the exact symptom of my sickness, and even the herbs that I had taken.
I tried to explain the best I could, but it had been a long time ago. Either way, I could tell that he didn't like my answers.
So, he insisted on giving me a physical instead.
In the middle of the Culling, with death all around us, and the cameras. Always the cameras.
It felt unnecessary and stupid. However, one by one the boys had gotten clued into what was going on, and they too started to get on my case.
