Luke opened the red wooden door that he became so familiar with over the years and kicked his shoes off next to the threshold. He avoided knocking because 'who knocks anymore'? The small boy made his way into the living room, seeing Michael sprawled out on the couch.
He cleared us throat, gaining Michael's attention. "Hey, Luke! I got Bay Watch ready, do you have the food?"
Luke held up the bags of chips and candy, throwing them on the coffee table before taking everything out and pouring them into bowls. It was their annual movie Monday, and Luke brought more food than ever. They've done this ever since they became best friends and they decided on the new movie that just came out.
Luke saw that Zac Efron was in it when he watched the promos which was the only reason he wanted to watch it.
Michael started the movie and brought the bowl of gummy worms on his lap. Luke scooted closer to Michael, putting the blanket on top of both of them.
The older boy smiled, silently thanking him. Luke rested his head on the side of Michael's arm as he watched the movie, wanting to be closer to him. He hummed as the character Zac was playing came on the screen, shirtless. Michael looked down at Luke, feeling a little jealous that he was taking such an interest to the male celebrity.
He looked at Luke and noticed how the light from the tv casted over his face, he knew he liked Luke as more than a friend.
Luke tore his gaze away from the movie and looked at Michael, who was already looking at him. He smiled awkwardly and nudged Michael's shoulder.
"Why are you looking at me?" Luke questioned, eating one of Michael's gummy worms.
Michael shook his head, focusing back on the movie. When he turned away, Luke looked at him this time. The blond watched as the older boy laughed as one of the characters said something funny. Luke thought Michael looked beautiful when he laughed. He blushed at his feelings before focusing back on the movie.
When the movie was over, Luke stretched his back and arms, slightly hitting Michael's face.
He moved all of the food to the coffee table and put his legs on Michael's lap, laying down on the couch.
After their movie every Monday, they finished the night off with a sleepover. Luke hogged the blanket and pulled it up to his shoulders.
Michael observed Luke, watching him get comfortable before closing eyes. He waited about ten minutes, and saw that Luke was not moving. He assumed he was sleeping, so he started to speak.
"I'm in love with you," He began, "I love everything about you."
He dropped his voice to a whisper, so as to not wake the blond up.
"You're everything I've ever wanted."
Luke smiled in his head as Michael kept talking. He tried not to move as his best friend confessed his love for him.
"I love you, too."
Michael froze, his grip on Luke's shins tightening. He shot his head to Luke and saw the boy staring back at him with the biggest smile on his face.
"Y-You do?"
Luke nodded, sitting up so he could settle on Michael's lap. He rested his arms on Michael's shoulders as he leaned in closer. They pressed their lips together, finally knowing what each other's lips felt like.
Luke pulled away first and Michael saw the love in his blue eyes. The smaller boy kissed him again, not getting enough of Michael.
"I didn't know you liked me like that, Mikey."
Michael shook his head, rubbing Luke's small waist. "I don't like you like that."
Luke furrowed his eyebrows, "But..you s-"
"I love you like that." Michael had the cheesiest smile on his face.
Luke giggled and rolled his eyes, pushing Michael to lay down on his back. He laid down on top of Michael, bringing the blanket over to them and covering their bodies.
"You're dumb, but I love you."
Michael grabbed both of Luke's hands, intertwining their fingers. "I love you, too."
