I was back to tutoring Genji. To be honest, it felt so much more natural to me than I thought it would. Walking to his house with him while talking about how our days went was refreshing; kind of like I was away on vacation and I had been reunited with him.

I suppose I was a bit uneasy entering his home after what he had told me the other night, but Genji gave me his word that no one would hurt me because he could order everyone around and they answered to him.

I couldn't help but look at everything a bit differently. I mean, I had never seen his dad before, and I didn't want to ask where he was all the time. But I passed Hanzo a few times, and shot him a ton of dirty looks.

He had asked me how I was cordially, but I never responded. How could I? Hanzo wasn't a good person. And far from the man Genji was.

Genji spoke about wanting to take down his criminal empire, but concluded that that would be impossible, at least for now. As long as he was defeated by his brother, he could never take down the whole Shimada clan.

There was nothing either one of us could do but deal with the knowledge for now.

"Do you still have those problematic topics in math?" I asked, gently flicking through my pack of flash cards. The cards made a quiet shuffling noise as I did this, perfectly coating the silence of us walking home.

Genji shrugged in the corner of my eye, shoving his hands in his pockets. I raised an eyebrow skeptically, putting the cards away in my backpack.

"Well, Shimada? Do you want to practice? We aren't learning anything new, so..."

"Nope! No studying today!" he announced, a cheeky grin spreading on his face. I shook my head, preparing myself for some kind of weird idea.

"You know you're paying me for these 'sessions', right?"

"Of course! And I will continue paying you, because it's for ballet, and I know you love ballet. But you don't have to teach me each time we're together."

I blushed, looking away. He sure knew how to make a girl feel special, huh? I hid my face from him so he wouldn't know how flustered he was making me. "But then I'd feel like I'm cheating you. I'm getting paid for nothing."

"Not for nothing. It's enough just being with you."

"Shut up, Genji, that's straight out of The Notebook or some shit! It's not like you love me or whatever."

He seemed to chuckled inwardly to himself at this.

"I don't know, (y/n), you're just so... so...."

I waited, but he seemed to stammer and struggle for the right words. "So...?"

"So... so!"

"Nice."

"I can't think of the word, alright?!"

I laughed at him, and he gently shoved me to the side in an annoyed manner. It used to be that Genji did all the annoying when we were together, but it had evened out quickly. We annoyed each other.

I decided to push his buttons even more, and tugged at the loose orange scarf that hung around his neck all the time. It wasn't the first time I had touched it, but I couldn't help but notice the soft texture it was made out of.

I narrowed my eyes at it and smirked. "An orange scarf. Green hair. You lowkey look like a carrot."

Genji scowled down at me, and I tried to hold in a fit of giggles that threatened to escape my curled lips. He didn't even have anything to combat that, because it was the truth. I turned away to continue walking, when he yanked the scarf off of his neck in one swift movement.
