Since we didn't have to be anywhere we stayed up in Canada for a little while longer and chilled with Jonathan's parents. We spent a lot of time on the ice or by the fireplace and I couldn't help but feel like a part of the family. I loved his family so much and I was so happy Caroline and Jacob get to come up here and have some fun too.

For New Years Jon's parents were going to watch the kids and do arts and crafts with them while Jon and I went to one of his friends house for a New Years party. I haven't met Jon's friends yet but they're Canadian so they can't be too bad.

I pull on a little burgundy dress and straighten my hair so it was super straight. I add some dark red lips and mascara and decide I was ready to go. I pull on my shoes and head out to our room to meet Jon.

I see Jon sitting on the bed fiddling with his tie. He lets out a grunt and I smile because it was so cute how concerned he was.

"Let me help" I try as I make my way over to him.

"You would think that I would know how to do this by now but..." he trails off as I step in front of him. I take his tie in my hands and move it around to get the knot out. "... but I totally just forgot what I was talking about" he says softly. He grabs my hips pulling me closer and I couldn't help but smile.

"You were talking about how you have been in a suit hundreds of times and still can't tie a tie" I remind him.

"A what" he asks and I roll my eyes. I finish his tie before pulling him up with it. I pull it so he is hovering over me as my lips pull into a smile.

"Don't tease me like this" he warns, his voice deep telling me he was being very serious.

"What do you mean" I ask biting my lip and I watch as his pupils get bigger. That was new.

"I mean I know you took some time getting you dressed but I will take no time getting you undressed" he growls.

"I guess we should go to the party so we can get back then" I tease.

"I guess so" he agrees.

We get to the party and I find a beer, always seem to find the beer. I sip on it as Jon introduces me to many of his friends. He was quite the guy around here and it made me proud. A good person is judged by the lives you've touched and if that's true Jon is practically a God around here.

"Are you having fun" he asks halfway through the night.

"I am. Your friends are great" I smile.

"You are" he replies.

"Why don't you hang out with your friends? You see me enough" I suggest.

"You wouldn't mind" he asks.

"Not at all. As long as I get my kiss at midnight" I threaten.

"I'll be here" he claims.

"Perfect" I smile. He gives me a lingering kiss before finding his friends and I stay back to people watch. There was a lot of interesting things to see and I sit back and watch.

A little while later I see one of Jon's friends approach me and smile. I think her name was Nancy, but I wasn't sure.

"Hey, your Jon's girlfriend right" she asks.

"I am! And you're Nancy right" I ask.

"That's me! How are you doing tonight, do you need anything" she asks. Wow, Canadian people really are extra nice.

"I'm good, thank you. How long have you known Jon" I ask trying to make conversation.

"We were friends in high school. I dated his brother but when we broke up I stayed in their friend group. That whole family is just the sweetest" she insists.

"Don't I know it. Andree and Bryan are two of my favorite people" I admit.

"Aren't they the greatest? How are they doing" she asks.

"They're Good. Jon and I adopted two kids so they're back at the house with Grandpa and Grandma" I smile.

"Seriously? The same Jon who was afraid to touch a child a few years ago adopted two of them" she asks.

"Yeah, he was nervous at first. It was a little rough but now it's first nature. Since there is no hockey that means Jon and I both are free so we just hang out all the time. It's been pretty nice" I admit.

"Well it's good to hear you guys are doing good. I never thought he would find someone who understood him" she admits.

"We're a lot of alike. I was misunderstood too but something about Jonathan makes it so easy. He's an amazing soul and I thank God every day for him. When I count my blessings at night he is at the top of my list every time. And I just realized I'm a emotional drunk" I laugh.

"You're so cute" she claims.

"Thanks" I blush.

We talk for a little more before Jon comes over. He grabs my hand playing with the promise ring on my finger as I continue to talk to Nancy.

"You want to dance" he asks and I turn my head to the side.

"I thought you didn't dance" I remind him.

"I love this song and I love you" he claims and I smile.

"Go dance" Nancy encourages and I shrug. Jon pulls me out to the living room and grabs my hips. He holds me close as our bodies move to the music. Jon sings along off beat and off key and I realize I was defiantly driving home tonight.

"You mean to me what I mean to you and together baby there's nothing we won't do. Because when I got you I don't need money I don't need cause girl you are my all" he sings to me. He laces his fingers through mine and kisses the back of my hand. I have no clue what's going on but I like it. "And I will never try to deny that you are my whole life. And if you ever let me go I will die so I won't front. I don't need another woman, I just need your all or nothing. Cause if I got that and I'll be straight baby you're the best part of my day." He wails as he pulls me into his chest. I let out a loud giggle as he moves us back and fourth.

"Wow, Chris Brown might want to watch out" I tease and he laughs causing my cheek to vibrate on his chest.

"Sometimes I wish I could sing like Chris Brown" he admits.

"How much have you had to drink" I ask.

"A lot" he admits and I shake my head.

"Of course" I laugh.

"I can't wait to marry you" he claims and I stop moving.

"When are we getting married" I ask.

"Soon I hope" he admits.

"Tell me more" I beg.

"We're going to have a small wedding, close friends and family. Caroline is going to be the flower girl and she's going to be a rockstar. I'm going to cry... a lot... and I'll keep asking God how I got to be so lucky. And at the end of the day I get to take you home as my wife, that's when I realize that I am the luckiest man in the world" he claims.

The clock strikes midnight and I don't immediately go in for a kiss. I didn't have my camera so I was doing my best to remember this moment. How he looked, how I feel, what he just said.

Then I stand tall so my lips meet his. He presses his body against mine as we molded perfectly. He smiles like beer and tastes like it too but I didn't mind.
