WERK BITCH!

Chapter 43:

"Hey Kitty Kat." I say with a smile at my best friend who turns from her locker to look at me.

"Hey Arna." She says happily as we quickly hug.

I open my locker and throw my stuff in and grab my English book and a few writing tools.

We lean against our lockers and look at each other.

"Ready for your second day?" Kat asks and I look forward, thinking about it for a minute or 2.

"Actually, I don't really know. Somehow it feels as if today is going to be worse than yesterday. I was on an adrenaline high yesterday and classes were great. But what if people are worse today?" I ask with a worried look on my face, no matter how I try to hide it.

"I'm sure everything is going to be fine. Maths is the only period we don't have together, which is entirely your fault for being so smart, so you'll be fine." I laugh at her comment in the middle and crack a smile.

"I'm so happy he's here! His accent is so amazing." We zone in to the conversation about 4 lockers down. 2 normally dressed girls are talking and laughing about some, apparently cute, guy.

"OMG I know right? His eyes are so dreamy! I wonder why he wasn't here yesterday..." She says with a thinking look towards the end of her words.

"He was probably talking all day, because with that accent I would do the same thing." They both sigh at the same time as if puppy's in love.

"Ugh, High school." I groan as I finally tear my eyes away from them.

The bell rings a minute later and we walk to first period, taking our seats in the same spot as yesterday.

The teacher walks in and places his bag/briefcase on his desk before clapping his hands once and looking at the class.

"Today we will be working on Sonnets. William Shakespeare created sonnets, and I expect big things from this class. A sonnet needs to have 14 lines, every second line rhyming with each other once. So in every 4 lines, the 1st and 3rd rhyme, and the 2nd and 4th rhyme. But the 13th and 14th lines rhyme with each other. Each line has to have 10 syllables. No more, no less. Get started, it will be due tomorrow. You can take them home if need be, but if you complete them today, hand them in." I open my book along with everyone else and think of a topic I could write about.

One hits me and I start writing instantly. I've been writing sonnets for years. Poetry and stories, short and long, have always been my specialty.

"Ew, maths." Kat groans as we swap our books.

"I'm sure it won't be that bad." I laugh.

"My maths teacher is an ass! He's speaks extremely slowly. I'm never going to learn anything." She complains again.

"Well why don't you get a tutor?" I suggest and she seems to think about it.

"Maybe. We better go before we're late." We wave goodbye to each other as we walk in opposite directions.
