After the many years of completing training the day quickly came upon us. Graduation day. That's where we hear the top ten, and only shortly after we become true soldiers in what ever Corp we desire to be in.

"Ey! (Y/n)!" I turn my head to see Clair, with some of her friends. I smile, and commence to her greeting them cheerfully. "Can you believe it? Today is graduation! We are going to become soldiers soon!" Clair cheered, jumping up and down like a maniac. I roll my eyes and scoff, calming her down in the process.

"What regiment are you going to go for, (Y/N)?" Clair's friend asked. Her name is Sarah, and she's a very sweet girl. I haven't talked to her much, but I've heard good things about her. Although, she isn't a strong fighter.

"Me? I'm pretty set on the Military Police. I don't know where I'll go if I don't get in the top ten." I say, laughing nervously.

"Oh don't worry! I'm sure you'll get in the top ten! Your grades are outstanding!" She complements. I nod my head, and thank her happily. Then I return the favor."What about you? Where are you going Sarah? You too, Clair."

"I'm almost positive I'll go into the Garrison Regiment. I don't think I have the capability to be a MP, and I'm to cowardly to be a Scout!" She said bashfully, darting her eyes around as she answered my question.

"I'm sure I'll follow her." Clair stated. I gasp, I expected the MP or something, I didn't think she would be apart of the Garrison.

"Not the MP?" I asked shocked.

"Well, If the opportunity shows up, but I don't expect it." She said

"Ah! Well, let's finish up our duties, and then get going! Graduation is only three hours away! I'll see you then!" I said, waving the two off.  I continued to sweep the stable floors, listening to the horses snicker to each other. I huffed peacefully, my nerves suddenly peaking. My mind blanked.

"What the hell?" I question. "Is this an anxiety attack?" I grabbed my head, and collapse to the floor.  I tried to gasp for air.

Someone help please!

And then, it stopped. I don't have an idea as to why that appeared. I thought maybe because I'm nervous about top ten results. "I'm so god damn close to become a soldier. I can quite loose hope yet." I encouraged myself. I picked up the broom, and continued to sweep the dust into a corner. I huffed after I finally finished working.

"(L/n)!" A deep voice echoed. I turned around, and noticed that it was Commander Sadies.  I saluted him. "Graduation start soon." His stern voice said, "You need to start hauling ass you pig. Anyways, when you are done I think you should talk to some of your comrades because you won't see them as often as you do now. " He explains. I realize he stopped, and I nodded my head when he interrupted me with his booming voice. "You have potential in you, (L/N). Good luck."

"Thanks Sir!" I say, saluting him. He dismissed himself, and I quickly finished up the last of the sweeping. Then I left the stables, placing the broom in it's designated spot. I sighed, and walked out of the stable. I looked up at the sky an noticed that the sun was going down. I didn't even bother to go get food as I was exhausted, and I wanted to get to the graduation ceremony early.

Only thirty minutes passed, and everyone in the 98th regiment were there, standing ready for the announcements.

"Good evening everyone!" Shouted Sadies. "Tonight is the night I will announce the top ten. If you hear you name please step forward." He announced. Then it hit me. The quaking fear in my body was evident, and I couldn't stop my hands from shaking. "This is it." I thought,"This determines my fate."  I let out a silent huff, and waited silently for the rolls of the number to be called.

"Number ten,  Aiko Nash." I watched as she step forward.

"Number Nine, Clair Van Rossume." She slightly gasped, and walked forward. I waited, listening to the number count down. I slowly started to drown out the names.

"Number 5..."

"Number 4..."

"Number three..."

"Number two." I then snapped back into reality. Hoping to hear my name.

"And your top cadet of 98th trainee squad..."

"Please be me! Please be me! Please be me!"

"Ken Kazuo!"

No, this can't be it! This cant be! There must be a mistake! No! I have to make it! For my family! My parents! No! NO! NO! My mind blanked, "What the hell this can't be! I worked my ass off!"

"To those who didn't make it better be making huge desions, dismissed."  Sadies yelled to the rest of us. I was completely shocked, and so were many others.

"(Y/N)? You didn't make it in the top ten? What the hell happened?" A cadet asked. I didn't pay attention to them I was bewildered. I was so ready to feel a wait to be lifted oof my sholders; only for more of it to be added. I walked away from everyone. I started stright to Commander Sadies.

"I worked so hard." I utter to him. He turned around, and gave a scold.

"What not satisfied with your placement? You chose to stay with the 98th trainee squad; not my choice." He said calmly, looking down on my short stature.

"I felt ready!" I argue back, "I worked my ass off! I wanted to do this! I NEED TO SEE MY FATHER! I CA-" A hand was quickly slapped over my mouth, I struggled from under the person's grasp. I shook out of it, and turned around quickly, ready to fight who ever it was.

"Sorry Sir! I don't mean for (Y/n) to act like this to you. It was your choice and you chose what maybe you saw fit. Please ignore her, she's just upset." Explained Clair.

"Both of you maggots go make yourself useful and clean the Mess Hall." He says, and walks away. I gave him a bitter glare, cursing mutiple words under my breath, collapsing to the ground, and quivering in fear.

"What am I supposed to do?" I ask Clair, tears briming my eyes. "I wanted to so badly see my father! My plans are ruined!"I cried. She crouched down by me, and patted my back to sooth my shaking figure.

"Hey, I'm sure you'll figure something out. Maybe there was a mess up in the system, maybe he mess up some how." She assured.

"No, he doesn't get shit wrong. There's no use. I'll just become useless titan fodder." I say standing up and walking to the mess hall. I grabed a broom and started my duty as a soilder  to clean.
