"THEY'RE COMING! THEY'RE COMING! THE BAD GUYS ARE COMING!" Jacob ran around the hallway screaming.

"What's this racket!" Camille poked her head out the door. "What bad fries?!"

"Not fries, guys," I corrected as Jacob screamed in the background.

"WE'RE DOOMED! AHHHHHHH!"

Carson suddenly marched out of his room and into the hall, and slapped Jacob across the face.

"Get a hold of yourself!" He shouted.

Jacob shut up immediately.

"What's going on?" Hayley asked, coming up from the staircase. "You guys are interrupting my snack."

"They're here," I told her gravely.

"WE'RE ALL GONNA DIE!" Jacob shouted helpfully.

"Not ALL of us," Camille put in.

"Thanks," Hayley deadpanned. "But I guess you're right. My days are numbered."

Carson whipped his head around to look at her with the hardest, most angry face I think I've ever seen him wear.

"No, you are not going to die," He hissed fiercely. "And don't you ever suggest something like that again!"

Her eyes went wide as an owl's, just as surprised as we were. "... sorry?"

He stared at her for a second more, then turned to address the rest of us.

"Here's the plan," He said, "Me and Camille will hide out in my room while Jacob and Aileen wide hide in the one across from us. Hayley stands between our rooms. Then as they are coming for her, we jump out and attack from both sides. Kapeesh?"

"Kapoosh," I nodded.

"Good," He said firmly. "Now let's-"

Suddenly there was a bang on the door.

"Quick! In the rooms!" Carson shouted. Then he turned to a frightened Hayley and pulled her close.

They just stared at each other for a secon, and he whispered something.

Before I could see anything else, however, Jacob grabbed my arm and pulled me into the room just in time to hear the front door burst open.

I shut the door quickly, and kept my hand on the knob.

You can do this, Aileen. Even Jacob can't mess this up. You're a beast.

"This is the craziest thing I've ever done on my life," I muttered to myself. "And that's saying something."

Jacob placed a hand on my shoulder. "Look, I know this is probably really scary..."

I waited for him to add on, but he stopped.

"And?" I raised my eyebrows.

He frowned. "And what?"

I groaned. "Never mind. Just be ready to fight."

"I'm always ready to fight!" He said, partly to himself. Then suddenly he screamed, "AHHHHHHHHHHHH!"

I spun around in panic. "WHAT IS IT?!"

"THERES A BUG!!" He screeched, pointing to the bed, where a centipede crawled about the mattress.

"Seriously?!" I shouted. "Be quiet, you'll ruin the plan!"

But apparently he had forgotten all about the plan, because he continued screaming, and backed up in such a rush he slammed into me.

We both toppled over, the door bursting open, and sending us flying across the hall.

We landed in Carson's open room, sprawled out on the floor.

"You idiot!" I near-screamed.

But my anger was nothing compared to the look of pure fury in Carson's face.

"You-two-RUINED-" His words were coming in gaps, not even able to finish the sentence.

"Quiet! They're coming!" Camille said, and quickly shut the door.

I quickly pressed my ear against the wood, desperate to get an idea of what was happening out there.

I spoke too soon, of course Jacob would mess everything up! I just needed to figure out when to jump in.

Unfortunately, we couldn't hear anything, so we had no idea when to jump out. We probably should have thought of that.

Finally, something seemed to break on the other side if the door.

Carson cursed.

He grabbed the handle and wiggled it, but it wouldn't open.

"What happened?" I asked, trying not to panic.

"They broke the doorknob!" He responded in terror.

"Can't you just break the whole thing down?" Camille asked, her voice rising in fear.

"No! I bought this door for my room specifically to prevent any breaking!" He shouted, struggling to control himself.

Oh no.

"So we're trapped in here?" I spoke, finally finding my voice.

No one responded, confirming my theory.

I snapped.

"OH MY GOSH- NO! WHAT DO WE DO?!" I screamed, looking at everyone.

Jacob was first to reply though. "UM, PANIC!?AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!"

"Both of you, shut up and let me think!" Carson shouted.

He ran over to the back of his room and began shuffling around while Camille grabbed a credit card from Carson's desk and was tried to pick the lock.

Jacob was crouched in the corner crying.

"JACOB!" I yelled at him. "DO SOMETHING!"

"I AM DOING SOMETHING!" He yelled back. "DONT YOU SEE THESE TEARS?"

Jacob is useless in these situations.
