Just hurt. Badly.

"But you'll not shout." I told Mia as I finally decided to tell her about him.
"Yeah." She said eagerly.
I told her everything from the starting. How we hated each other, still do you know, and how we got stuck, then married. I also told her about the real condition of our relationship to which she glared at me.
"What?"
"You didn't tell me mom." She said solemnly.
"Mia I wanted to tell you. Really. But I couldn't bring myself to it. Please." I said.
"Do you trust me?" She asked.
"Had I not, you wouldn't know about him." I said.
"Are you serious mom? I've a dad and you didn't even tell me."
"Listen to me. I didn't have it in me to tell you Mia. Understand." I said.
"But shouldn't you have told me?"
"Yeah. I told you." I said.
She slowly hugged me.
"Mom please don't hide things from me." She said.
"Yeah baby. I'll try my best. But I trust you."
"I love you."
"I'm so happy. I've a dad. "
She said.
"Mia we are not close."
"What?"
"We are just married in name. We hate each other." I told her.
"Really?"
"Yes."
"No mom. He likes you and as far as I can read you like him as well." She said.
"No Mia. It is not so. That is why I asked you to call him sir. Also, the world doesn't know about us. They just know that I'm his girlfriend."
"Oh. Yeah. He once said that 'Jayce and his girlfriend are a .....'. I thought he was talking about some fling just like himself.'" She said.
"So that means you need to understand."
"But mom! You need to understand. You can't keep a girl away from her father."
"He is not your father. Why don't you understand?"
"Because I am a supporter of truth. And the truth is.."
"What truth?"
"Andy, you need to learn to knock." I glared as he pecked Mia on the head.
"Whatever idiot."
"Dashole. You are idiotic. Get out."
"Nope. Let me stay girl."
"Andad, I'm not talking to you." Mia pouted.
"Why?" He asked.
"Does he know Mom?"
I looked at him and then at her.
"Yeah."
"Know what?"
This is so confusing.
"Know that I have a dad."
"You have me. Isn't it obvious?"
"You are my godfather. There is a difference. My mom and dad?" She explained.
"You told.." He looked at me.
I nodded.
I looked at my watch.
It was quarter to ten.
"Mia I have to leave." I got up.
"Mom. I want to visit him tomorrow." She said.
"But why?"
"Please."
"But you'll call him Sir." I said.
"Yes. Done."
"So we are coming tomorrow."
I nodded and left after hugging them both.
:::

"Actually Mia wanted to visit so if you are fine with it, can you come home by nine?" I asked.
"Yeah. Sure why not?" He looked at me.
I smiled a little.
"What happened?" He asked.
Your sweet side is super amazing.
"Nothing. I just smelt malice."
"Seriously?" He looked at his hand. I'd been bandaging it since last two days. That day at my office and yesterday. Today I did it as well.
We had dinner together but not much of a talk.
He dropped me at the office as I kept stealing glances at him.
What was wrong with me?
Why am I staring at him?

Eve, that one line doesn't make a difference. Forget it.

I'm trying bruh! Not helping.

Shut up.

I called Rick again.
Sorry to disturb. Has he left?

You care so much for him. Rick spoke.
Tell no. Mia is waiting for him. I said.
He left at seven as he has been usually since some days.
I gulped. It was past nine thirty.

Mia and I were running and Andy was trailing. I heard the front door open he came inside. Looking at us, he raised an eyebrow and then Mia suddenly ran behind him and hid herself.
"Save me sir." She held his hands from behind as Andy tried to reach her.
He folded his arms, trying to hide her, grinning. Why can't I stop staring at his face?
