I contacted Vero.

Buti nga at nacocontact na siya ngayon. I guess she's been really busy with her parents' company and her own issues to settle with. I'm glad she actually finds time for us to meet in a coffee shop we have always been to when we were still studying in Bridgett.

After half  hour ay nakita ko na siyang pumasok ng coffee shop. Hinanap niya lang ako saglit at nakita niya na rin kung saan ako naka- pwesto.

Ngumiti siya nang bahagya at umupo na rin sa harap ko.

"So...what about this meeting K? What is this about?"

I tapped her on her shoulder. "Pwede bang umorder muna tayo ng coffee? What's with the rush? Parang ngayon lang ulit tayo nagkita oh." I told her.

"Just been busy with family issues, I guess." She simply answered.

We ordered the usual.

Then we started talking.

Tumingin- tingin muna ako sa paligid saka ko siya kinausap.

"Ikaw lang maaasahan ko dito." I started off. "Do you know any detective? That I can hire to check on a certain person?"

She seems surprised at what I told her.

Tiningnan niya lang ako as if hinihintay na bawiin ko 'yung sinabi ko. "What for? Why do you need to hire a detective?"

Bago ko tuloy ang sasabihin ko ay dumating na ang waiter na siyang nag- serve ng coffee namin dalawa.

I am also thinking if I'll tell her.

Gusto ko sana saakin muna mga gagawin ko.

"I just need to know more details about a person. Which obviously I cannot do myself." I explained. She's arching an eyebrow at me. "I just need a detective okay?" Napalakas yata ang boses ko at may ibang mga tao na napatingin nang bahagya saamin.

"Irerecommend ko na lang. I'll tell him to message you." She said. "Ayon lang ba ang dahilan kung bakit mo ko inaya makipagkita?"

I glared  at her. "Bakit parang iwas na iwas ka saamin?" I confronted her.

"No." She argued. "Iwas ako sa lahat ng mga tao."

"Gen and Prim always complained na hindi ka nila ma- contact." Sabi ko. "Hindi na tayo nakukumpleto na apat."

"Jesus K. We're not in college anymore." She said back, sternly. "May mga sari- sarili tayong buhay. Mga responsibilidad na dapat gawin at tapusin."

I got taken aback.

Biglang nagging iritado yata siya.

Nakunot ang nook o habang nakatingin sakanya. "What's the problem? Bakit ganyan sinasabi mo?"

"I'm just tired of everything K." She took note. "I'm suddenly tired of other things."

I held her on her shoulder. "That's why we're here for you Vero." I assured her. "Pero ikaw ang biglang lumalayo saamin."

She sighed. "I'm so sorry. I've just been too stressedl lately." I mouthed 'it's okay' to her. "How are you? Sila Prim at Gen kamusta na?"
