"Dad was made redundant a few years back so we moved in with Colette, one of dads family friends." She says.
"Did he ever get remarried?" I ask her
"No, he dated this woman for a while but she was married to someone else and was apparently seeing other men aswell. It was a complicated situation." She says with a fake smile. I nod and take a sip of my drink.
"So how many jobs do you work?" I ask politely yet enthusiastically
"Only 2, I'm a delivery girl and I work in McDonalds. Do you have a job?" She asks
I shake my head, slightly embarrassed.
"I spend most of my time at dance," I say and she smiles.
"I used to dance, but ever since dad was made redundant we couldn't afford it. That's why I started working, but then all my works shifts were going in to my dance class times so I had to quit dance. I really miss it.l" she says with a sad smile.
"Did you compete?" I ask, she responds with a nod.
"All the time, I've been to regionals, nationals & even internationals. It used to be magical." She says tearing up. I quickly walk over to her and give her a small hug.
"Do you live far?" I ask. I've not really seen her around before.
"Not really, I just live a of couple streets  behind Walmart," she says. She lives so close yet I've not seen her once until this week.
"So where did you dance at?" I ask confused. The closest dance studio to there in CDC.
"Oh Canadian Dance Unit," She says and I nod. I totally forgot about that one.
"Where do you dance?" She asks I laugh slightly.
"Canadian Dance company," I say with a smile, making her jaw drop.
"I always dreamt of going there, like seriously your studio is insane," she says in shock, a good shock though.
"Yeah, it's pretty good." I say laughing at her enthusiasm. She stares at me in disbelief. For the next couple of hours we just make small talk, just catching up on the past years of our lives. It's really nice, it's nice to have my sister back.
"So does Dad know you're here?" I ask before we head off
"Well not exactly, I sort of wanted to keep it a surprise, so i could get to know you better without him, if you get me?" She says not sounding too convincing. I nod and we both stand up ready to leave.
"Um here's my number," I say handing her a small piece of paper with my number neatly written. She smiles and thanks me.
"Why don't you come over for dinner tomorrow?" She asks nervously. "I'm sure dad would love to see you."
I think for a while. I'd do anything to be able to play happy families, so maybe I should go. I nod and smile before hugging my younger sister and leaving. She texts me the address and asks me to come for 12. I quickly text Myles to inform him that I'm on my way home and that I'm going to stop off to do some grocery shopping on my way. Now I'm even more nervous for tomorrow.
