Don't tell my mother

After the scan we decide to just go home to chill, sleep and prepare ourselves for tomorrow.
"Okay B, presentation starts at 5 meaning we should probably go to see Allain at about 4:30, so we should start getting ready at about 2," Myles says, glad he's so prepared.
"Sounds like a plan, I need to go shopping this morning then I was thinking we could go and buy a new outfit or something for the presentation." I say before yawning.
"Is someone wanting to show off their bump?" Myles asks with a smirk.
"It's hardly noticeable," I say with a laugh lifting my pyjama top up and looking at it.
"Yeah right, I know people don't tell anyone till around 3 months but I can't keep this a secret one moment longer, I'm so excited." Myles says
"So am I," I say, honestly I really am. This is all becoming so real now and I can't wait.
We both hop out of bed and get ready for the day a head.
We decide to do a quick grocery shop before going to the local mall where we buy matching outfits. A skin tight navy dress for me and for Myles a navy suit and tie.
We rush home (at the legal speed limits of course) and get showered and changed. I do natural makeup with lashes and curl my hair. I dose myself in my boss perfume and put my dress and some navy heels on before we set off for the presentation. We usually go early every year to help set up so it won't be a huge surprise when we turn up.
Once we arrive we smile at each other before walking hand in hand into the building.
We enter the room in amazement, it's been decorated so beautifully. All the tables are round with a cloth and balloons on and the chairs have ribbons on.
"Briar, Myles," Allain says excitedly.
"Allain we need to talk," I say a bit too eager.
"Okay," He says guiding us to a table to sit and chat.
"We've decided to leave competitive dance," Myles says
"Oh, is everything okay?" He asks concerned.
"Oh yeah, More than ok," I say with a smile.
"So what's made you come to this decision?" Allain asks confused.
"We just feel as though it's time," I say clearly lying.
"What's really going on?" He asks worried
"I'm pregnant," I say without hesitation this time.
"What?" Allain asks almost choking on his words. "Pregnant? With Myles?"
We nod our heads.
"Oh," He says slightly gobsmacked. "Well I guess a congratulations is in order."
"We wanted to tell you now before all the regional planning goes ahead, we want to continue dancing just not competitively," I say with a weak smile. He looks, upset.
"Well that's okay, you need to take it easy. Do what's best for you all. How far along?" He asks.
"Only a month but we went for a checkup yesterday and baby's growing quickly, so I've got a little bump," I say with a smile looking at Myles.
"B stand up," Myles says, I quickly stand and Allain eyes widen.
"Holy Moly," He says. "I never in a million years expected you, out of all people, to be pregnant so early, but I'm honestly so happy for you both, congratulations."
"We were hoping to do a sort of pregnancy announcement today, if you could help us. But could you do me a favour and not tell my mom, I've not got round to telling her yet," I say with a weak smile.
"Of course, where is she today?" He asks
"Barcelona I believe," I say, I'm not even too sure myself.
"Oh how lovely," Allain says with a smile. "Look at you both, you're so grown up."
I can see Allain shed a tear so I embrace him in a hug.
"You're like a father to both me and Myles, we're so thankful for you," I say pulling away.
"I love you both, you know that, make sure that little one comes straight to cdc the moment they can walk," He says with a smile. We nod and laugh.
"Of course," Myles laughs.
"Doors opening," Isaac says from along the room we quickly stand up and get a better table before Allain walks to the front of the room and puts some music on to welcome all the guests in.
Allain begins with a speech to explain how proud he is of us all etc before moving onto talk about the competitive students individually. Our last year of this.
Allain starts tearing up when he comes to mine and Myles speech. I'm assuming he wrote both of ours individually but he decided to put them together and said a truly gorgeous speech about the pair of us which I think I'll cherish for life.
"Briar Nolet and Myles Erlick, 2 of the most inspirational and courageous not only dancers I know, but people I know. I've known these 2 trouble makers since they were tiny tots and now I've seen them grow into 2 wonderful incredible human beings, with incredibly bright futures ahead of them. I remember the first time they got partnered up to do their first duet, there was kicking and screaming and well, now look at them, I'm more then proud to announce they're expecting their first child together." Allain says causing the whole room to erupt in congratulations.

After Allains speeches there's a small disco and buffet.
"I can't believe this is it," Jessy cries, only slightly drunk as we're about to leave.
"I'll see you all the time," I say with a reassuring smile. "I mean look."
I point at my belly and she cries, even harder.
"I'm sure you'll be nagging me to let you go baby shopping with me all the time," I say with a small laugh.
"True," she says embracing me and Myles into a tight hug.
"I love you," She says before saying goodbye.
