It's only the beginning, the limitless me

— third person point of view —

Y/N sighed heavily, slumping aggressively into her chair— watching Nagisa a few seats down the classroom– flirting with the green haired girl on his left. Clutching her skirt harder in her right hand that was relaxed against the seat of the armchair, she had a scowl mixed with jealousy and anger planted on her face. Karma couldn't help but give her a bit of a pitiful smile, understanding the situation.

Glancing over at the red haired boy, you spoke. "Don't look at me like that, Karma." She bit her lips, not truly intending on her words coming out as harsh as they did.

The mischievous male held his hands up in faux defense. "I just don't see why you can't talk to him about it or at least tell him. You're best friends, I mea-" He tried to reason before she cut him off.

"Exactly, we're best friends. You can't date your best friend." Her voice rose a bit while explaining her thoughts. "Plus, he's more concerned with his new girl at the moment." She said, as if stating the obvious.

That wasn't the truth though.

She just couldn't tell him how she felt because she was scared of rejection.

We're talking about Nagisa Shiota here.

So why would he ever want her?

Karma sighed at her reply, "You know that's not true, Y/N. People marry their best friends all the time." He took a small sip of the strawberry milk in his hand and continued. "And if you think this Kaede-chan could be even compared to you, you're delusional." He stated taking another sip from the carton that rests in his dominant hand.

"Yeah, totally. She even fixed Nagisa's hair!" She rolled her eyes at him, mimicking him as she too drank her 'invisible' strawberry milk.

Her attention landed on him again. He was so handsome without trying. His beauty was natural. He'd crack some corny jokes and the skin around his eyes would crinkle as the smile reached his orbs. God, that was a lovely sight that almost brought a pleasant smile to her face— almost, until she noticed the figure to his left, Kaede, forcing a squeaked laugh.

"Oh come on, you could do better than that, Nagisa." She thought. The problem was, she didn't just think that, she said it, and quite loudly at that.

Her eyes went wide at her realization, so did Karma's. Oh no.

Her words caught Nagisa's attention. "What was that, Y/N?"

She let out an aggravated huff and began to sit up straight in her chair. "Nothing to worry about. I think I gotta go." She took her bag off the desk stood up harshly– which let out a creak— and started making her way out of the small room as fast as she could.

"I'll...uh I'll go check on her." Karma started to get up of his seat when Nagisa did instead.

"She's mad at me, let me." The blueberry boy insisted. Getting up with a steady grunt, he made his way out of the wooden doors to see her leaning against the wall.

"Hey, is there a problem?" He questioned her.

"I already told you, nothing. I'm just gonna head back to my house." She started to walk away when a vast hand gripped her upper arm which spun her around to face the man she loves. She furrowed her brows with feign annoyance.

Nagisa chuckled dryly, "Yeah, sure thing, Y/N-chan." The way he called her, it was enough to drive her wild. "What's with the bad mood?" He muttered with a soft voice.

She she snorted with slight detest, "Look, it's nothing. I already tol-"

"I know what you said, Y/N. But, I'm asking you what's wrong. You've been acting off lately."

"What's my problem? Do you truly want to know what my problem is?"

"Yes!" His voice seemed desperate, but it had a dominant vibe into it because of Y/N's sudden change of tempo.

She was fuming. This wasn't how she wanted to tell him. This wasn't how she wanted to let the love of her life know how she felt towards him.

"Fine. My problem is that I love you. My problem is that I have to see you flirt with this new chick everyday! My problem is you, Nagisa. Alright? It's you. You with that fucking smile and you with those beautiful eyes that I know will never be filled with love for me."

She let out a strangled breath. "My problem is that I love someone who could never love me back." Her last sentence was barely a whisper but he still heard her. She was instantly riddled with regret.

Her eyes filled to the brim with unshead tears. He didn't speak, it had been about a minute and he hadn't said a thing. Just stood there. Shell shocked maybe?

"Nagisa... Say something. Anything. Please." She pleaded with worry. This, this is what she feared oh so much.

The boy began to speak with a sympathetic look. "I don't... Y/N, I don't... I don't feel the same. I'm sorry." His tone was very gentle and apologetic. She hated it.

He felt sorry for her, and she hated that.

Her hands clutched her hair by the roots, "See, this, this is why. Holy shit. This is why."

She continued to utter incoherent nonsense whilst walking away, ignoring the shouting of her name. She figured he didn't love her back, but hearing him say it? It hurts. It hurt bad. Her chest ached.

He tried shouting her name, hoping that maybe his voice would make her turn around. Instead it only made his best friend get out of the room, expression filled with worry.

"Where'd she go? What did you do to her, Nagisa? What did you tell her?"

Nagisa didn't respond straight away. He wasn't even sure what to say honestly.

How was he supposed to tell his friend that he broke the heart of his love? Karma's love.

"Oi," Karma repeated, this time with a deep voice attached to it, snapping Nagisa out of his thoughts. "What did you say to her?"

"I told her that I didn't love her." His words came out as more of a whisper, but Karma still heard him.

"Maybe you don't, but you know that I do. You knew! You could've faked it! You could've done something! Just for me!"

Karma couldn't help but walk away from Nagisa. His blood was boiling madly and he wasn't sure if he could control his temper around the petite boy.

One wrong move, and maybe his fist would be landing on this blue haired boy's face.

With one last breath, he just decided that he had to get to Y/N as soon as possible. His feet carried his body as fast as he could.

Until he was nose to nose with her.
