CHAPTER 17

[Darshan]

Only 3 more classes were left and I was searching for Adi. But I found her nowhere. She must have left for her work. I never had a real conversation with her but seeing her, I could say that her life was hectic and chaotic. I texted her
Darshan: Hey! Where are you?

Aditi: Sorry... Forgot to say you... I am at my work..

Darshan: But, we have 3 more classes, r8? :(

Aditi: Yeah... But my work is equally important.

Darshan: When will you leave?

Aditi: Nearly at 12

Darshan : So late :(

Aditi: Why are you behaving like this? I always work up to late and u come this late only to walk with me ;)

Darshan: Yeah... BTW the lecturer has come... I must go...

Aditi : K... Bye

Darshan : Bye :(

After the conversation, I don't know why I wanted to talk with her. I wanted to know about her. I decided to visit Rajesh first, so I went to "The Royals" at 11. I saw him coming. As he neared me, he asked, "Waiting for Aditi? ". I replied, "Actually today I want to talk with u". He smiled and took me in. As soon as she saw us she said, "U had went back, r8 Raju? ". "Raju? ", I asked. "Yeah... That's my nickname ", Rajesh said facing me, "And u told u are coming after me", he said facing Adi. "Yeah.... But Rachel had some work with me... So.. ", she said. "Okay... ", he said rolling his eyes, "Is there anything left to eat or not? ". "I think some chicken Parmesan is left...", she said thinking. "Just bring it fast.. ", he said. "Okay", she said and left. All this time I was just hearing the conversation. It felt like she was comfortable with Rajesh more. "What do you want to know about Aditi? ", Rajesh asked straight. "Wait... Were u guys CID before? Everytime I try to lie, she catches it and even knows in which emotion, what and how I want to say something and here u.. ", I blabbered. "Yeah.. She is quite observative ", he said and we chuckled. Soon, she brought 2 plates of chicken Parmesan. "Only 2? What about you? ", I asked. "Don't worry... She will survive ", Rajesh said sarcastically and Adi passed a feeble smile. After she left I asked Rajesh, "Rajesh... Why does Aditi always stays alone? I mean.. She doesn't like to have friends nor does she share her feelings with others... Has anything big happened to her? ". "To be honest... I also don't know anything about it. I just know that she doesn't live with her parents. She lives with Manohar chacha and Ruksar chachi, her saviours. Well... I am 5 years older than her... So she doesn't talk to me pretty often.. ", he said. "Oh... Then she should call u Bhaiya but she doesn't... ", I jabbered. "It's okay.. She at first used to but I only asked her to call me by my nickname. ", he said. "Well... How they are her saviours? ", I asked remembering what he had told. "She was exhausted of her life... So she had drank nearly 4 bottles of beer and tried to drown in the sea.... Manohar chacha saved her and asked her why she had done so... And she replied that she had no point in living. She was just 17 at that time. After that Manohar chacha took her to his home but to be honest, Ruksar chachi wasn't happy at all. She thinks that Aditi is the free load even though she doesn't use any of their money or their things... She even does the household chores but still Ruksar chachi doesn't like her... ", he said. I just looked down and he continued, "She thinks I don't know anything about it but I know it. She thinks I don't know that she works here for as much late as she can... She would clean the dishes and all... And she doesn't want anyone to know anything about her... Honestly I don't know why this girl is like this... ". I could feel my waterline ready to rain but I held them back. "U r not Aditi... U can cry.. ", he said and I looked at him. "I hope u know that tears are already running through your cheeks.. ", he said clearing my doubt of how he knew. "Really... Seeing her I also want to burst out... But I can't.. ", he said and chuckled. "Hey r u guys done? Shall we go? ", I heard Adi saying. "Yeah.. Almost ", Rajesh said as I wiped my tears. "Darshan, what happened? ", she asked in a concerned tone. "No.. Nothing", I said and got up. That day, we 3 were walking in the dark. She took to us to her 'special place' . "Hey aren't you surprised? ", I asked Rajesh in a hoarse whisper. "I know the place already. ", he said in the same tone and winked. I passed a smile. Aditi as usual fed Mike as it licked her and it got out of her grip and ran towards me and Rajesh. It licked me as soon as I picked it up and Rajesh patted it.  Soon, I saw Aditi smoking and Rajesh said loudly, "Hey Darshan, ask her to stop it right now or else I am going to kill her.. ". "Oh really? Can you do that? ", she said smoking again and giving a victorious smile. Rajesh just looked at her and said, "U r impossible! " and she smirked. "Hey, give me one.. ", he said sitting beside her. "Do u have serious plans to die like me or what? ", she asked. "Yes.. Any problem? ", Rajesh asked in return. "Then what will ur mom do after u? She has no one except u.. ", she said winking. "Really??!! U must have done a degree in emotional blackmailing. Huhhhh!! ", Rajesh sighed losing the battle. I was the common spectator of the fight. I went and sat on the other side of Aditi as she patted Mike on her lap. I just love this sight!!
