CHAPTER 43

[Prakriti ]
There was something fishy. I could sense something wrong. I couldn't hold myself. "D... I need to ask u something ", I started. "Say" he said without looking at me. "What happened to Aditi last night? ", I kept my question. "U don't need to know now", he said in a frustrated voice. "Please darshan... Please... Say me... ",I pleaded. Sighing off he said "Okay.. I will but think twice... Don't fall weak", he warned and it scared me just more. "Ok", I briefly said gulping down. "Aditi.... It was her who sent Jai to misbehave with u", he said with a heavy voice. Something inside me shattered. Her picture flashed before me. I took her as my well wisher but she turned out to be evil. But of all WHY? Why did she do this? "How did you know it? ", I asked with the same heavy voice as his but not heavier than his'. "When I brought u back, I realised that my phone was left behind. As I stepped in, I saw Aditi paying Jai some money... And then she said to him 'good job... Keep it up... U had a nice trial' . At first I couldn't understand but later on everything was clear", he explained. I had a mixture of emotions. I was angry, frustrated, shocked, astonished and broken. She betrayed me. I thought she knew how it felt when betrayed but she herself betrayed me. I was on the verge of breaking down. Just then Darshan hugged me. "I know you want to cry... So just cry! ", he said. It comforted me. I cried... Cried hard till the tear drops were over. "Listen... Tomorrow is Valentine's Day ... So be ready for tomorrow " , he said. "What? ", I asked surprised. "Yes" he nodded. "And don't be late again" he nagged and I laughed in between the tears. He made me feel comfortable. After a while he left my home. My mind was full of questions to be answered.

<Next day>

We were in the college when Darshan dragged me out of my class. Teachers were not there so he dragged me out. He dragged me to a corner. "Prakriti... I need to say something ", he started. "Say", I prompted him. "Prak... I don't know how to say it... But I just want to say something... ", he looked deep into my eyes. "Miss Prakriti Patel... I love you... Will you give me a chance? ", as he spoke those words, I froze. I was shocked yet happy. I could feel my lips stretch into a smile and eventually I nodded in a 'yes' and hugged him tight. He hugged me back to the tightest. This moment was ours!

[Aditi]
I was passing through the corridor tossing a notebook in between my hands. I just stopped as I saw something unusual.... Which I wanted to happen and also not to happen. They both were happy. Darshan had finally proposed her. His eyes shone showing his happiness. I could feel my eyes moist. Everything was now fine, then why the heck was I sad? Why did I feel lost? Why the heck was I feeling neglected? I know I am not meant to be happy... Still I felt like I let my happiness go away. I shrugged off all my feelings for them. I just want both of them to be happy.... That's it!  Now it was time to go away from their lives... Forever... Somewhere far from them... Not to disturb their lives ever again
