"Were there other experimented supernaturals with you?"
"I don't know." A lie.
"Do you know the names of your doctors?"
"no."
Darren sighed in defeat. I'd been reminded of his name before I was pulled into this sort of interrogation room by some strangers. I think i was sleeping in Lucille's room when this happened. I complied because I didn't want to cause trouble for Lucille- I knew massacre wasn't commonplace for her. Even when they bound me to this chair, I did not refute them.

"Chaos... Do you know why they named you that?" he repeated.
"Do I have to answer you?"
"Yes, you have to answer me." He narrowed his eyes at the challenge.

"Then I don't want to."
He groaned loudly and out his head into his hands.
"Chaos, a lot of people are going to keep getting abducted and experimented on, just like you", He began raising his voice, standing up from the chair he'd been in this entire ordeal. He continued, "Don't you care if they're going to get hurt?"
"No." Of course not, I don't even know them. They were probably already dead anyways.

"Really!" He was furious and disgusted with me, as if only now seeing me for the murderer I was.

"Is that so hard to believe?" My eyes felt droopy. The bright interrogating lights made it difficult to stay awake.

He stormed out, slamming the door in emphasis of his rage. Much later, probably 2 hours, Lucille came in and helped me from the chair. Her words were gurgled and her eyes were red. She'd been crying.

"Why are you crying, Lucille?" I asked slowly. I brushed her hair out her face as she tried to hide her pain.
"Let's, uh... let's just go first, Chaos", she sniffled and grabbed my wrist, hauling me out the room. She pushed pass her brother, Darren, hazardously and dragged me up the stairs.

I was blinded momentarily by how bright it was outside. She ushered me into the forest, pulling me into a small clearing, similar to the one i'd killed those two rogue wolves in.

She collapsed to her knees and her shoulders shook as she cried, I knelt beside her and brushed the stray hairs that stuck to her cheek.

"Lucille, tell me why you're crying." Ifelt this tightening in my chest when I saw her like that. I didn't understand it, but I knew this feeling wasn't good. Was this her feelings? Or my own? I didn't think i was capable of such disparity.

Lucille hiccoughed her breaths, which was actually kind of cute. She was beautiful, even when she cried.

She begun to speak after a moments silence, "Chaos i'm sorry, I didn't know they would-"

"Take me?" I was a bit confused that this is what she was worried about. "I'm fine."

"No it's just-" She wiped her eyes quickly and sniffled again. "My brother lied to me, they don't trust you and they don't care that you're my mate. They're scared" she added scornfully, her eyes narrowing with anger.
I still didn't fully understand her sorrow. Was it because of me or Darren? Is it both? The only pain I was familiar with...
"Did they hurt you?"

"What? No, I mean..." she sighed and lifted her face toward the sky, as if only now taking in our surroundings.
"Lucille. As long as you're okay, i'll be okay", I assured her.

She stared at me for a long moment, transfixed by my eyes before dropping her gaze to my lips.
In the heat of the moment, I pulled her head close, kissing her softly. Her lips were swollen, probably because she'd been biting them so much. I didn't care if she had tear soaked skin, or a red nose from abrasively wiping it with her hand.
She returned the kiss, and for a few moments I stayed with her in that clearing, my lips merely resting atop hers, gently kissing each other.

"They think you're responsible for the wolf abductions as of late. The population of rogues have been dwindling for a while now, they suspect it has to do with Alpha-BET, the organization you were captive in", Lucille said softly, as if just thinking out loud to herself to relieve this distress from her mind.
Makes sense. The reason it was so hard to pin Alpha-BET was because they left no evidence behind- that meant all test subjects were executed at the slightest breach of security.

When I pulled away from her lips, her eyes were closed, until they fluttered open. Her stomach growled viciously.
"You go ahead and get something to eat, i'll hunt." I stood up to leave and helped her up in the process. I was going to walk away but she clutched my hand.

"Chaos, i'll have them make something for you", she said hastily.
"It's fine-"
"No. Please don't go", she said, squeezing my hand more. I looked at our joined hands before interlocking them. The quiet clearing and the trees rustling in the gentle wind, her touch felt so natural to me.
"Okay... I'll come with you."

I let her lead me back to the pack house and made sure that we got to the room first for her to 'freshen up and compose herself', she said.

When she got out, her eyes were no longer red, though they seemed to have a permanent red ring beneath them, as if she were ready to start crying again. Her face was fresh and her hair pinned up. I liked it this way, I could see her face better.
"You ready?" She asked, despite already having pulled me out the room.
"Ready for what?" The dinner?
"Ready for the Harvest Fest?"
"Our date?"
"W-Well yeah..." she smiled a little in recollection of her proposal to said date. We walked into the dinning room together, Lucille sharing a secret smile with me as I tried to remain serious. Her happiness was contagious.

"Hey, Lucy", Joanne said.
"Hello, Luna", Lucille spoke formally. Bowing her head in slight recognition, she turned her head to acknowledge her brother, Darren, as well.

"Pardon us, Alpha." Her tone of voice was cold and detached. It was similar to speaking to a stranger or an enemy.

"Very well." He continued to munch on appetizer, giving some to his son then.

"Hi, Aunt Lucy!" the young boy exclaimed, too naive to read the atmosphere. "Hi, Chaos!"

"Hello, little wolf", I mumbled, sitting beside Lucille as she took the seat beside her other brother, Kai, I think?
"Hey, Chaos, can I see your fangs?" Kai asked, Little wolf leaned in to hear the matter. Darren tapped the table warningly, looking at his brother with a deathly glare.
"No." Im tired of being a spectacle to these dogs.
"Whyyy", whined little wolf.
"Because we're at the table." I made a ridiculous excuse. Darren scoffed at my play at being proper.
The cook brought out our dinner and set it in the middle of the table. I watched everyone fill their plates with food as I sat back watched. Lucille turned to look at me.
"Chaos, you're not going to eat?" she gave me a puzzled look.
"I'll eat." I took one chicken leg from the middle platter and set it on my own. I tore the meat off the bones and ate them slowly. I couldn't taste anything but i could feel the texture of the meat, soft and tender as it slide along my tongue. It did nothing to ease the gnawing sensation in my throat except for the fact that the steak i'd also tried was rare and still had a little blood in it. I was nibbling on the bone marrow, as i'd broken the bone once i'd finished the meat.

When the dinner was over Darren looked as though he wanted to question me but stopped himself, glancing at Lucille.

"Chaos, wanna play boardgames!" Little wolf howled.

"It's late, Levi, time for bed", Joanne gently said. She picked up her pup and begun walking with him out of the dinning room. The floorboards creaked in their wake as they made their way up the stairs.
I turned my head away from their retreat to find Darren glaring at me.
