Chapter 18

changbin held felix in his arms, adreneline coursing through his veins, he heard a loud bang, they were shooting at them.

"c'mon guys, faster!" jae yelled, looking back.

felix was shaking and crying, petrified and scared, they ducked behind a wall, panting and shaking.

"guys, quiet, really really quiet."

felix couldn't stop whimpering.

"shh, it's okay prince, daddy's here, ive got you, we need to get off school grounds."

jae nodded, they made a quick run for the gates, managing to get out and run down the road before they heard shots again, they ran towards a house to go behind it, jae first, then changbin with felix, then lucas, but before lucas could get behind the house, another shot rang out and he fell.

"lucas!" jae yelled.

he had been shot through the stomach and was lay on the floor, jae picked him up over his shoulder and they kept going, getting to an alleyway, they found a small area and jae knelt on the floor, holding lucas.

blood was staining his shirt and he want breathing shallowly, his head rolling back.

"no, no lucas, baby, look at me."

lucas cracked his eyes open, looking up at jae, they both started crying, jae rocking lucas in his arms.

"stay with me, come on, changbin, call an ambulance, please?"

changbin pulled out his phone, dialing an ambulance.

"j-jae- i d-dont wanna d-die."

"don't say that, im here, im here baby, stay here, please!"

jae was sobbing, he pulled his hoodie off and pressed it to lucas' stomach.

"i love you."

jae cried harder, brushing the hair from his boyfriend's face, smiling at him through tears.

"i love you more."

lucus managed a weak smile, his grip on jae's hand faltering.

"no come on baby, you're not going anywhere, keep your eyes open, please?"

lucas let his head fall back.

"changbin, where are they?!"

"theyre on their way." changbin choked out.

felix was crying into changbin's neck, scared, sad and confused.

"lucas, please don't leave me! please!"

lucas couldn't fight anymore, he was loosing it and could only focus on jae's voice, he felt his favourite lips on his own, making him smile through the pain.

"baby, i need you, i cant be without you, please dont go!" jae sobbed, rubbing lucas' cheek.

changbin held felix close, hating that he had to witness this.

"i love you so much lucas, i need you with me, please hold on for me, please!"

lucas slowly faded away, his breathing slowling down.

"no! no baby please, look at me, please come back to me, i love you baby, please!"

lucas opened his eyes as sirens were hears, changbin ran out with felix to show them where they were.

"please help! he's dying!" changbin was shocked at how frantic he sounded.

the paramedics ran towards them, changbin couldn't look anymore, lucas' body was limp and cold, he was dead.

changbin closed his eyes and tried to soothe felix.

"it's okay baby bear, everything is going to be okay, don't cry little one, daddys here, ive got you," changbin whispered "focus on me baby, my scent, my arms around you, my voice."

felix tried really hard to calm down, he looked up at changbin, signing.

i dont want lucas to die

"i know baby boy, just relax, stay with me."

the paramedics started cpr, compressing his chest repeatedly and jae sobbed and clutched lucas' hand.

"jae, i need to get felix out of here, its too much."

"go, please go." jae cried, holding his face, not wantinh felix to see this.

changbin picked felix up on his back, feeling the younger bury his face in changbin's neck.

"d-daddy." he cried.

"i know baby bear, stay calm for me, we're going home."

changbin had to be so careful, he was constantly looking out for the men, hoping and praying they had gone, he got them into campus, running towards their dorms, the group were in changbin and felix's room, looking up in shock when changbin came in with felix.

"what happened?! where did you go?!"

changbin broke down, collapsing to the floor, holding felix close to him.

"binnie, what happened?"

"we got chased down by haneul's gang members, they shot at us, lucas is dead."

they gasped.

"oh my god, changbin you can't stay here."

"i want to move off campus, still come to this school, but i want to take felix to live where they don't know about."

"like, an apartment?"

"i cant afford it, i just paid my savings for paris, i cant work, because felix cant be without me for more than a few minutes." changbin breathed, rocking felix in his arms.

"i will help." chan piped up.

"me too." woojin added.

the rest of the group joined, offering their help to move changbin and felix away from danger.

"i love you guys, thank you so much." changbin smiled through tears, cupping felix's cheek.

"we love you too, wait binnie-"

woojin was biting his lip.

"hm?"

"my brother owns a record label, i can get you a job producing artist's music, meaning you can work from home."

"youre joking?"

"no! if i explain the circumstances, he should give you a job."

"hyung, thank you so much."

"no problem, we will help with felix, we need to get you this apartment straight away."
