Arlo turned to Sara.

"That knight in black is running after us!"

Sara flipped to a page on her tome and pointed her hand at the knight.

"This should do."

"Shockstream!" she cried. Suddenly, a bright beam of electricity bolted out from her fingertips and struck the knight.

Suddenly, everyone on the enemy's side froze.

"Was that the..."

"That was!"

"No! Impossible!" yelled the knight she had struck, "Attack spells?"

"I refuse to go down like this!"

No one else spoke a word

Arlo spaced out for a second.

That voice... who did it belong too?"

Arlo's eyes suddenly widened.

"Gods!" he yelled. "That's Ladron! The knight that took Claire!"

"Wha-?" Sara gasped.

Suddenly, he felt a surge of power, a rush of adrenaline, and he couldn't control his body.

Arlo charged in and slashed at Ladron.

"No!"

Ladron jumped out of the way. "How dare you attack me?"

"Shut the hell up!"

He stabbed him right in the stomach.
"I don't want to hear another word from that filthy mouth of yours."

"Wha-?"

"You are the man that took my best friend away from me!"

He pulled the sword out and pointed it at his throat.

"Do you have any last words before I end your pathetic life?"

"What do you speak of, boy?"

Arlo bit his lip. "You don't even remember..."

He slashed the blade and Ladron's head toppled to the ground.

The adrenaline rushed out of his body.

He fell to his knees, blacking out.
