Chapter 6 - Blush (Blink x Mush)

Third Person POV

Mush felt the hot water hit his back. He flinched, but let it keep hitting him. The water was steaming, and burning his back.

He stuck his head out of the shower curtain, and saw that the room had so much steam in it. He wondered if Blink would get worried, but ignored the thoughts.

Mush had had a rough time with fighting with his mind for a while. Every time he won a battle, another thing he hated about himself came up.

Mush didn't harm himself by cutting himself. He knew Blink would find out that way, and he didn't want to worry Blink.

Mush felt tears stream down his face. They were warm, but definitely not hot. They were nothing compared to the water that's hitting his back.

He started to realize how hot the water actually was. He heard someone, probably Blink, try to get into the room.

"Mush! What are you doing in there?! How hot is that water?!" Blink shouts, and Mush flinches at the noise level.

Mush doesn't answer him. He just stays silent. I deserve this. Mush was praying Blink thought nothing was wrong, and ignored him.

A few minutes later, Mush felt someone grab him. He was pulled out of the shower, and wrapped in a towel.

"What were you thinking?! That water was steaming hot!" Blink exclaims, holding Mush.

"I know" Mush whispers, and Blink sighs.

"You worried me. Why did you do that?" Blink asks, his voice softer now.

Good job, you worried him. You really are just a burden. Mush starts crying harder. He wanted the thoughts to stop. To leave him alone.

Blink notices Mush's tears, and pulls Mush closer to him.
"Shh. It's okay. You're okay."

"I-I'm sorry" Mush chokes out, a few sobs escaping his lips.

"Baby, you're okay. It's okay. Just don't do that again" Blink comforts Mush, who hesitantly nods.

Blink kisses Mush's forehead. They stay like that for a few more minutes, Mush in deep though, beating himself up, and Blink getting more worried by the second.

"Can you get changed? Then we can eat and talk about this?" Blink suggests, and Mush nods.

Blink leaves the room. He had brought some of his clothes for Mush to wear, since he knew Mush likes wearing his clothes.

Mush gets dressed, then leaves the bathroom. He walks into their bedroom, and sees Blink waiting for him on their bed with a tray of food.

"Hey Mush" Blink greets, his voice softer than usual. Mush nods at him, as he sits down next to Blink, not wanting to talk for fear that he'll mess up something.

Blink motions to the tray of food next Mush, and Mush shakes his head.

"Mush. You have to eat, you haven't eaten all day" Blink responds, and Mush shakes his head again.

Blink sighs, and gets up. He leaves the room for a minute, and more tears stream down Mush's face.

His nails dig into his skin, as he starts freaking out more. You are a burden. He's mad at you. You don't deserve him. He's gonna leave you.

Blink comes back a few minutes later, this time with Jack following him. Mush pulled his knees to his chest, and hid his head in his knees.

Blink saw the blood on his arms, and ran over to him, Jack quickly following him.

"Hey, Mush, buddy" Jack whispers to him, as he pulls Mush's arms away to stop him from hurting himself, and Blink pulls Mush into a hug, Mush's head on Blink's chest.

"Breathe Mushy, breathe" Blink comforts, and Mush takes a few shaky breathes.

After a few minutes, they get Mush to calm down again, and start trying to get Mush to eat again.

"Mush, you gotta eat. You need to eat food to live, and no one wants you to die" Jack tells him, picking up a piece and trying to get Mush to eat it.

You deserve to die. He's lying. They want you to die so they don't have to take care of you anymore. Mush starts crying again, and gets lost in his world again.

"I-I" Mush starts, but can't continue because he starts crying more.

"Breathe Mush" Blink comforts him, hugging him.

"I d-don't want y-you t-to leave me. I-I'm a burden, w-who doesn't deserve t-to be h-here, or h-have you" Mush whispers, finally breaking. Jack and Blink look at him, shocked.

"That's not true. We love you. You are amazing, and we would be sad if you weren't here with us" Blink assures him, and Mush looks at him.

"Really?" Mush whispers, and Blink smiles at him.

"Really. We love you. I love you" Blink responds, and Mush smiles, blushing, and looking at his hands.

"Like Medda says, there is a difference between wanting to help, and just doing it to be nice. We want to help you" Jack tells Mush, who nods.

"I love you guys" Mush whispers, and Jack and Blink smile at him. They all hug.

"Now you need to eat, Mush." Jack tells him. Mush and Blink laugh, as Jack picks up the sandwich and hands it to Mush.
"Eat. Now."

Mush takes a bite of the sandwich, and gets a little of something on the side of his mouth. Mush smiles at Blink, who laughs with Jack.

Blink licks his finger, and wipes the sauce off of Mush's face, causing Mush to turn pink. Jack and Blink laugh again, and Mush joins in laughing.
