Klaus and I walked to the twins' treehouse where the two young girls were still chanting the siphoning spell, watched over by their father's narrowed eyes.

"Ah you made it." Ric said sarcastically. "I've been wondering when exactly this was gonna go down."

"What happens now?" Nik asked me, tears in his eyes.

"You go in the middle." I replied, trying my best to steel myself.

Nik was doing the bravest thing he could have possibly done so I had to be strong. I had to be strong enough for the both of us. He screamed in pain as all of the Hollow's magic entered him at once, whilst I watched helplessly.

"Ric, take the girls." I told him. He nodded and shot me a pitiful gaze before departing.

"Fiore..."

I turned to see Elijah, once again awake and standing beside me as we both waited for Nik to regain some of his strength. I walked into the binding circle and kissed away a lone tear that had fallen down his cheek.

"Do you want to know why red is my favourite colour?"

"Blossom..."

"It's because it reminds me of you." I explained to his surprise. "Red is the colour of blood, violence and...and love. And I love you Nik. Okay? I need you to know that I love you."

"I love you too."

I held the stake right at his heart, terrified by having to be the one to take his life, and in front of his brother too.

"Fiore, don't do this."

"Elijah, you shouldn't be here for this." I told him as I tried to will myself to do it.

"Put it down and let's talk, the three of us." Elijah pleaded.

"There's nothing left to say!" Klaus snapped. "It is time we end this chapter and get rid of this dark magic once and for all."

"Mom? Dad?" My heart stopped at the sound of Grace's voice. The last person I had wanted to see this. "What's going on her here?"

"Get her out of here." Klaus instructed to his brother.

"Your death is not the answer!"

"Death? What are you talking about?" Grace said as horror coated her eyes. Only for that horror to turn to something worse—realisation. "They put it into you."

"Grace—"

"You told me that they put it into something safe but instead you used my first transition to trick me!" Grace yelled angrily. "So you just kill yourself and the magic goes away? And Mom, you were just gonna let him go through with this? Elijah?"

"It was the only option we had." I told Grace. "And we do not need anyone's permission to save your life."

"Come back to New Orleans, we'll find another way." Elijah continued to plead.

"Elijah please stop!" I begged. "Do you think he would be doing this if there was another way? That I would be doing this?"

"Grace, I'm sorry." Klaus told her. "But I've made my decision."

"And I've made mine."

And with a sickening crack, our necks snapped simultaneously.

~Hayley POV~

From the afterlife, Hayley often watched over her son but today was different. Today Elliott was gonna have to say goodbye to her, once and for all. Elliott had taken a break from trying to find a way to save his sister after he received a cryptic text from her. He headed to the shelf where his mother kept her record player and stood in front of it with a frown.
