Warning: the chapter is REALLY long.

I squeezed my eyes shut as Derek shoved my fingers back in place. A weird noise told us that my fingers were back in place and Derek stopped adding pressure. He shook his head as he stepped closer as he slowly dropped my hands and ran his hands up my arms. It tickled in a nice warm way which subconsciously made me smile.

We'd made a small stop at Derek's loft for me to change into a full black outfit and to get some things for our plan.

"Stop getting hurt." Derek whispered as he placed his head against mine.

"I can't promise you anything. Especially not now that we've got this new plan." I whispered back.

"I'm still against that plan." he whispered back while frowning slightly.

"It's best plan we had."

"Yes but why do you have to be the one sneaking in that fortress guarded by all kinds of supernatural creatures?"

"Because," I said as I gently pushed him back until his back hit the wall and I stood in between his legs. "I'm the only one ninja enough to make it out alive."

"What if something goes wrong? What if you get hurt or captured... or killed-"

"I won't. I'll be fine." I said with a comforting smile but Derek wasn't convinced.

"We should think of a better plan." he muttered as he stared at the ground.

"There's no time. Derek this is the only way we'll have the upper hand. You know that. Jaylah's employers don't know that she's been captured and that she's given valuable information to us. They think that she's still out on the mission. I'll have the advantage of surprising them and I'll be out before they even know that there was an intruder."

Derek nodded slightly but didn't lift his head or look anywhere near convinced. I wrapped my arms around his waist, a gesture he immediately returned.

"Don't worry. I've done it before."

"You better make it back without a single scratch on you." he threatened silently. I grinned at his comment and looked up in his eyes. "Or what?"

"I'll think of something." he replied with a grin that finally reached his eyes.

"Liz! It's time! We have to leave!" Peter yelled from the other room as I we could hear him throw the last things in a bag.

Within a second I'd straightened out my face and returned to my logical place. Derek followed me with a worried look on his face but didn't say anything about it. Jaylah was sitting on the couch while Peter threw the last few things in the black backpack.

Jaylah had told us everything she could but there were a couple insecurities I had to mind. The kids were sometimes moved around so that Jaylah wouldn't try to break them free. They were always guarded but she didn't know by how many and by what supernatural creature or creatures.

She looked white from all the tension and worry was written all over her face. As soon as she saw me coming out of the room her eyes locked on mine.

"You're absolutely sure you can get them out unharmed?" she asked for the third time in five minutes.

"Yeah just getting VIP's out of a guarded area. I've done it before." I said again as I walked straight to Peter.

Without warning he threw the bag at me, which I caught just before it hit my face. Focus more. At this rate you'll get killed

Peter motioned Jaylah to stand up and follow him but I cut them off. "No. I want humans to escort me to the perimeter." I said as I put on my backpack and made sure that it was secure. When I didn't get a response I looked up. All of them were staring at me like I was stupid.
