"Aren't you supposed to be in school?" Derek asked Isaac.

"Well technically, yes. But I like to see the rules more like guidelines."

He noticed me and instantly began to bombard me with questions about my health so I quickly cut him off by saying "Isaac! I'm fiiiine."

"We should call the others." Isaac brought in.

Oh god and have some sort of Yay!-You-didn't-die! party? No thank you.

"Or I can just go to school for the last few hours."

As soon as the words left my lips, Derek objected. "No. Even Peter had some recovery time and you had it worse."

I stared at him, knowing that I'd already made up my mind. "I'm fine. Maybe not perfect shape but it will do."

"I've had worse days." I mumbled quietly, temporarily forgetting that they could hear me.

After I realized that they'd all heard me, I awkwardly stood up and began to gather some things. I managed to find some girl clothes that sort of fit me and gave up on finding a bag. I cleaned myself up in the bathroom and when I got out, Isaac was waiting for me.

"So... Did I miss anything interesting at school?" I said sarcastically.

He huffed "Unless you really wanted to be part of the mass detention of chemistry, then no."

Class started five minutes ago so Isaac decided that we'd arrive late.

"But Isaaaac" I whined "I usually skip PE anyway! He won't even notice if I'm not there."

"Well he would notice if I was missing and I'm not leaving you on your own."

"Fine. Just hold on."

Isaac stopped next to me and watched as I got a piece of paper from one of my notebooks.

"What are you doing?"

"Writing a note that I can't participate yet."

"What?"

"What? You don't have to do that?" I asked disbelieving. My last school was pretty strict with those things. You had to have a note which stated the cause and it had to be signed by a parent or guardian.

Of course when you get older you get better at faking it but even then some teacher wouldn't buy it. There was one witch from hell who ALWAYS took your note to the administration to double check the signature.

Oh she was the worst.

"No, coach will understand if you just explain that you've been sick. Just put on your biggest most innocent eyes and he'll buy it."

I smiled and put everything back in my locker.

"Okay... Lead the way!"
