6.1 - VP's Back, Tell A Friend

MANHATTAN, NEW YORK

It was Four O'Clock in the afternoon and Six of the Seven Avengers consisting of Steve, Tony, Natasha, Thor, Clint and Bruce were gathered in a room after Steve had called a meeting for an upcoming mission.

"We've finally what we've been looking for." Steve announced to the rest of the team failing to contain the smile on his face.

Thor was interested to learn more "Is it Lord Y/N?" He asked the Captain eagerly.

Steve's smile soon fell off of his face "Uhhh, no it isn't. Y/N's still missing." He said sorrowfully, still baffled about his friend's disappearance.

Clint then spoke up to alleviate the sadness "So what is it that we've found?" He asked.

Steve wanting to get back on track "This." He turned on the large 40" screen that was in the room displaying an image on the screen "Loki's Sceptre."

There was a wave of relief that washed over the team "Oh thank god. We've only been looking for it since forever." Tony spoke up.

"So where is it?" Natasha asked as she looked at the sceptre on the screen.

"Sokovia, an Eastern European country and located within it. A large HYDRA base, one of the biggest we've faced." He informed the group, he then glanced to Bruce "So Doctor Banner, I feel that we may need you for this one."

Always being self conscious about unleashing the 'other guy' he looked nervous at what Rogers was asking but stuttered out "Ok."

Natasha noticed the nervousness of the scientist so put a comforting hand on Bruce's thigh which startled him at first before he relaxed as he wasn't expecting it "Don't worry, I'll be there to calm things if we need a Code Green." She reassured him with a smile.

The four other guys looked on at the pair which was then ruined by Stark wolf whistling "Ooooh get a room, you two." He teased the pair.

Bruce blushed put of embarrassment whilst Natasha scolded Tony "Shut your damn mouth Stark."

Tony put his hands up defensively as he leaned back in the chair "Hey, I'm just saying what everyone else is thinking." He then smiled "You two should be thankful Y/N isn't here because he would be teasing you A LOT worse than me."

Natasha's face softened for a few seconds before Cap then said "Stop bickering you two and settle down." He ordered with the two backing down after a small stare down.

"We're heading out in an hour so get whatever you need because it's a long flight." Steve then looked to Tony "I need you to call ahead to get a Jeep and Motorcycle for us."

"Sure thing Cap." He agreed with a thought in the back of his mind knowing that he'd also have another phone call to make afterwards.

"Alright, dismissed." Cap said as he shut off the screen and everyone got up to leave.

Clint and Thor were chatting on their way out as Natasha asked Bruce "You mind helping me look over my gear before we head out?"

Bruce, being the polite man that he was, suggested "I think that's more Tony's domain than mine."

Natasha tucked a few strands of her shoulder length red hair behind her ear and said "Well Stark is also a dick and you're far less annoying than him."

Bruce narrowed his eyes "Thanks....... I think."

"Come on then." Natasha said grabbing the doctor by the wrist and practically dragging him out of the room.

Steve and Tony were looking on with intrigue as Stark asked him "You see it too right? Romanoff and Banner."

Steve nodded and smiled a little "I think it's nice. You know she seemed quite down when Y/N disappeared plus I reckon they suit each other well." Steve gave his opinion on his fellow teammates.
